Ouch!

Got to love church basketball. Toby was defending a pass and the ball jammed right into his thumb. You should see it now. This was taken on Saturday a few hours after--his thumb is double in size and the whole half is blue. Major ouch! Thinking about going to the Cath lab to get it x-rayed tomorrow to make sure he didn't bust it. It looks so bad and he's in a lot of pain.

Those church ballers-they're brutal!

Thank you Dallas

for scaring the CRAP out of me.

Tonight I had to go into his room to get some more dipe wipes.....no big deal.

I open the door only half way to keep some of the light out and quickly check his crib. I see a lump in the blanket and assume it was him. All of a sudden I get this weird feeling like someone is watching me. I look again at the lump and see no Dallas. I turn my head and holy crap-he's sitting straight up staring right at me!!!! I wish I could write how freaky that was. It scared the crap out of me. He was awake, sitting at the end of the crib where you couldn't really see him in the dark just staring out. My heart about jumped out.

Wish I could convey how freaky it really was.

Thanks Dallas-after the fact, he started to laugh. As if he knew that he just got his mom.

Just don't swallow......

or eat for that matter.

I have the worst sore throat ever.

Better Day

MUCH better day. Had the doc appointment at 10-got Wes' 2 month shots and he's 25% for everything-weight, height and head circumference. 10 lbs 14 oz. Not too big, not too little.

Love him more and more each day. This kid makes me happy.

Cute little smile.

"Moooooooooom" is what he says all day long. Love the cookie mess on his face and his dark brown eyes. Talked to my Mom today about the "Love and Logic" courses. I think I'll be reading up on that to see if it can help me ease into this new age. I want it to be the good terrible 2's. I didn't yell at all today either......yea for me.

Off to do some of this! He is such a stud. Love my dark haired babies.

St. Baldrick's Foundation!

My dear dear friend Shana Moss will be shaving her head on March 6th for the St. Baldrick's Foundation to help raise awareness and money for children with cancer and she needs your help! Each year, over 160,000 children are diagnosed with some type of cancer. The funds from Shana's event will go towards finding cures and treatments. Her goal is $1000. Click here for more info. Can't wait to see your bald head!!!!

No Good, Very Bad Day.......

Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go right?????

Well today was one of them.

Had an appointment for Wes at 9am. Trying to get out the door that early isn't always easy. Dallas didn't want to wake up. Me neither buddy. As for the Westofer-he'd been up since 6:30.

Then we had problems at nap time. I wanted to take a nap, Dallas and Wes didn't.

Laundry done? Nope.
Cheetos smeared on Mom's bed? Yup.
Dishes done? Nope.
Whole glass of milk spilled on the carpet? Yup.
Get to go to book club? Nope.
Boys still sick? Yup.
Did I even get anything done? I HATE days like today. I yelled at Dallas way too much and Wes was so cranky. I'm so looking forward to going to bed and waking up to a new day. Even if we have yet ANOTHER doctor's appointment tomorrow.....at least it's at 10 and not 9.
Here's to new beginnings.

My Dallas Baby

LOVE this photo! It's my newest favorite of him. This is how I want to remember my Dallas baby. He's going through a tough time---terrible twos are quickly approaching..........and it's making me crazy. Massively crazy.

Anyways, while we were at Tim and Kayla's new beautiful house (photos to come) I noticed how great their lighting was. It's perfect for indoor photos, something I struggle with because indoor lighting is hard to master without specific photo lights. I grabbed my camera and started snapping photos of Dallas. Love the ones I got.

Sweet boy.

Smiley Face. He's such an innocent kid. Even with him being in this obnoxious stage I love him to pieces.

The real Dallas. :) Tell me how you really feel.

8 weeks

My how time flies. I am busy all day long--whether it's at home doing the normal daily grind or at weekly doctor appointments, I am always busy! I can't believe that the little Wesman will be two months old on the 21st. We sure love having him in our family and now I can't imagine life without him!

He loves his baths and being held. We think he's a bit of a Mommas boy and I'm okay with that. He will snuggle a lot more than Dallas did and I'm loving that!

He loves to watch Dallas and loves to coo and talk to Toby. Tob can always get him to talk a lot more than I can. He was the same way with Dallas. Guess he's got the magic touch. Wesley is sleeping 4-5 hours a night and what a difference that has made! I feel like I am getting back to normal and I am thankful for that precious sleep. Toby and I are loving having two boys. It's so fun to see them interact with one another, even though it usually ends with Wes screaming and Dallas looking guilty! :)
We're getting family photos taken this weekend and I'm excited to see how they will turn out with the two crazies. We just got them taken in October, before Wes was born and now I want to capture our little life with two babes under the age of 2! I feel for Cortney (he's taking them) because he has to get Dallas to smile AND hold still. But he's an excellent photographer so I know we'll get some good ones!

My Little Dudes

Chillin' with my little dudes. They still aren't feeling good, but I had to snap a few of them together. Dallas is holding Wes' hand.....sometimes too tight! Glad to know he loves his brother. We're working on getting rid of Dallas' paci, but with him being sick-I've let it slide this week. I want it gone by his second birthday in May. Any tips?!?!?!

Sweet boys.

"Be gentle!" "Be soft!" I think I say these phrases all day long. I want him to be kind to Wes and not just yell at him to not touch him. We're working on it.

Smile!

Think they look alike? I think they look totally different, but lots of people tell me Wes looks just like Dallas. I think Wes takes after me more than anything, but I guess time will tell. I just know that they are both pretty stinkin' cute. Good thing they're mine!

Valentine's present from Grandma Lovey

Can you see the smile from behind his pacifier?!?! Grandma Lovey sent Dallas a car for Valentine's Day and he was so excited to play with it.

Got to love the bed head! Plus, you can see how sick he still is. NASTY cough and cold. The boys stayed home from church with Toby and I only went to primary since I had to teach sharing time.

He's discovering that there is a Cheetah on the car!

Thanks Lovey! I love cars and animals and you got both! I love you!

Valentine's Cookies

Didn't get to make roll out cookies for Christmas, so I was excited to make them for Valentine's Day. I had Dallas help me bake and he did a pretty good job. He loves to hold the measuring cups and then dump them into the kitchen aide. He's such a good helper! I'm glad that he enjoys spending time with me in the kitchen. Plus he loves a taste of cookie dough!

Such a cute box!!! I bought them to put cookies and treats in for my visiting teaching and Toby's home teaching.

They turned out really cute and super yummy! Makes me want to go make some more. :)

Little Bit Naughty....

Do I even need to write anything?!?

Oh the things my little 20 month old is doing.

The Wesmister

This little man has a cold and a fever-no fun for any of us. He seems to get sick a lot easier and we were told that would happen with sphereosytosis. Two colds in 3 weeks of each other stinks! BUT--he slept for 5 hours last night. 5 hours! I was in sleep heaven. Toby actually woke up with him at 5 because I was in a sleep coma. Didn't even hear him. I'm sure giving him meds last night to help his fever probably helped knock him out. Too bad I can't do that every night!

This is the look he gives his brother. You never know what Dallas will do next.....we have to keep a close eye on him. This morning as I was getting their bath ready, I put Wes in Dallas' crib for just a second. Well, screams were heard and as I ran in there to see what happened, I couldn't see Wes. That's because Dallas wanted to lay by him.....meaning lay on top of him. Poor Wes! This kid might not make it to his first birthday let alone 6 month mark!

Smiles more and more and is now cooing. Oh how I love this stage.

Such a sweet face. I wish the camera did justice to just how beautiful I think he is.

Softened the flash so you can get a good idea of just how blue his eyes are. I never thought I'd have a baby with blue eyes. I wonder if they will stay that way. I would love for him to keep his dark hair and have blue eyes!

You can tell he doesn't feel good. Hope you get better soon sweet babe!

Mini Vaca

We took a mini vacation last Thurs/Fri to McCall to see the Winter Festival. It was so much fun! I had heard about the great ice sculptures that they create, but have never gone. I'm so glad we did it this year!

We stayed at the World Mark Resort that my parents are a part of and got a great deal. We had a two bedroom condo that was bigger than our apartment! Big kitchen, nice grill on the patio, washer and dryer--everything you needed for a house it had. We've stayed there three times now and it is a great place.

We went swimming and Dallas had such a wonderful time. He loves water and Wes is following after him. I didn't put Wes in the pool, but he sure loves his baths everyday. Be prepared for an OVERLOAD of photos. The sculptures were so cool that I took photos of almost all of them. So I put them in a few different posts so be sure to scroll down after this one! Enjoy!

My happy boys. It was so fun to swim in the middle of winter. Makes me wish our apartment pool was indoors.

Such a happy kid. He had so much fun on this trip-he loved everything about it and was a good sport on the two hour drive to McCall. Wes was good too.....until we got home. Then he was up all night.

Playing in the water. I want to put Dallas in swimming lessons. He has no fear of the water and he kept trying to crawl out of his float. He thought he would just swim like dad!

The Wesman slept through our swimming activities. He mostly slept through the whole trip!!!

The snow outside our condo. Isn't it beautiful! I sure miss having a white winter, but I don't miss it too much. :) It snowed all night and most of the day that we were there. TONS of snow.

view of the pool

Toby had a good time throwing D baby up in the air. Dallas had a great time too-you can see it on his happy face.

Isn't this outfit great?! My friend Hilary gave it to me at Wes' baby shower and it was the perfect thing for him to wear while we were outside all day. It kept him so warm.

Still don't know what his eyes will be. They look like a dark grey/blue color. I don't think they'll be brown which is what I figured all my kids would have! Maybe his will turn green like Tob's.

Getting ready to go. I still look tired. Guess it will be another 7 weeks before I start NOT looking tired.....or maybe that's the way I'll look forever!!! Dallas was sleeping 5 hours at 7 weeks and Wes baby is not.

Ice sculptures! They were all over town and we had a map so we started driving. This one was in front of the Forest Ranger Station. It was Smoky the Bear in a boat and the woods around him. Aren't they so cool!?!?
It had been a week since they were created and with the temps warming up and then it snowing, some of the detail was lost. I want to go up on the first weekend next year, but they had 10,000 people show up! When we went, it wasn't busy at all. But we went up Thursday and Friday. It helped to beat the crowds.

Smoky in his boat.

Dallas and Toby standing in the boat. On a few of the sculptures, you could play in them. But most of them you were asked not to touch.

Dallas sitting on a fox. He thought the snow was the coolest thing and loved trying to climb on anything! We had to get him off a few of the sculptures.....like the toilet one!
Scroll down for more!
