Action Outside and Porch Furniture

The city is doing some water work and so the roads are closed for a few weeks.  This is what I get to see everyday outside my front door.  Not so exciting to me.....but to Dallas and Wes, it's heaven.  Big trucks/sweepers/diggers/drillers-you name it.  It's like a car show right outside our house!

The boys happily watching the workers.

Cute shirt for Dallas.  He loves Curious George.

My new porch furniture!  I copied a friend who had the same set and told her I loved it.  Luckily she didn't mind if I bought the same stuff.  I'll change the pillows as the season changes, but it's been so much fun to sit outside and watch the boys play.

 Cute pillows huh!

More trucks.  It is so loud.  Good thing my kids take naps with noise makers on.

Look who showed up at our house!?  They were checking some hydrants and pulled up right in front of our house.  What a fun and busy day it has been.

Dallas loves firetrucks.  He was so excited.

Wes was excited too.  Whatever Dallas does, Wes follows.

When they were done, they came and said hi to the boys.  We got in the truck and looked around and they gave us stickers and pencils.  They were very kind to the boys and it was sweet how they took their time and talked to us.  Thank you Firefighters!

It was a great day for the boys.

life

this kid is 7 weeks old.  crazy how time seems to be flying by.  love love love having blue in our home.  he brings such a sweet spirit into our house.  even though my kids are all little, I've forgotten what it's like having a new little baby.

this is a photo of what everyday looks like.  they will smother him if I'm not watching!

he's starting to smile.  one of these days I'll capture a good one.

This kid drives me crazy.  He threw Toby's blackberry into the pool when Toby wasn't looking.  Who knows how long it was in there for.  We tried the rice trick over night and it didn't work.  The phone is dead.  Now we'll have to get a new one.  Wes---you make me tired!  Good thing you're so stinkin' cute.

Funnies

No pictures, just two funnies.

***I asked Toby to grab something at the church after scouts for me and he asked me to remind him via txt.  After he asks me, without missing beat, Dallas goes-"txt me too mom" and then walks out the door with Toby.  Ha!

***Setting the scene-Toby and Dallas watching the NBA Finals, I'm nursing Harrison and Wes is no where to be seen.

That is until he comes from the kitchen holding eggs in each of his hands.  AHH!!  I scream to Toby to go and check the kitchen and sure enough, there are about 6 smashed eggs all over the floor.  Guess he thought they were balls.  Didn't know my kid could open the fridge!

STUPID SQUIRREL!!!!

I am so ticked!  I have been waiting to eat my strawberries for a while now and every day Dallas and I go check on them when we water the garden.  We had about 6 getting ready to turn red and be picked.....until today.
I went to take a photo of our progress when I noticed that there were NO strawberries. NONE!  On all 4 plants there was nothing.  Then I saw the above photo.  I was so mad.  Stupid squirrels ate my strawberries!!!!

Dallas was mad too.  He has been waiting to eat them for a long time and now we'll have to wait even longer!!!

 This is my bummed face.

Telling my Mom.  I got no sympathy from Toby so I had to call someone who would understand my pain.  I was soooooo looking forward to my own strawberries.  They always taste better!

Sunday Evening

We went for a walk with the boys around the block.  We let them do the walking and holy cow-good thing it was only a block!  :)  Wes stopped at every rock he could see.  And so much for my kids having "stranger danger" they said hi to everyone!
Then it was home for ice-cream outside!  Blue was stuck inside taking a nap.  Can't believe he'll be 7 weeks old on Tuesday!

Loving having a table outside.  It's been fun to eat out there.

Wes-a-Mess.  I'm surprised how many stains I manage to get out of his clothing.

 "What Mom?  I don't need a bib.  I'm just enjoying a little ice-cream...."
We took him in for his 18 month check up and he only weighs 21 pounds.  He's in the 3% for weight.  Technically he's still supposed to be in a backwards facing car seat!  Ya right!  There is a new law coming out soon that will make us keep our babies in backwards facing car seats till the age of 2.  That will not be fun.

Are these not the coolest lights ever?!?!  I got them at World Market and I love them.  They clip onto the umbrella and look so fun at night time.  Makes me wish I was in Italy.  :)

Now Toby and I can have our own romantic dinners without ever leaving the house!

 Hi!

Cars.  Everywhere!  We lose Lightening a million times a day and we can not live without him.  Love how he lines up his cars wherever we go.  They sure are cute!

Updated!

Scroll down to see a quick visit from my Mom and sisters.  I haven't taken many photos, but I blogged what we've done so far.  There are quite a few posts so keep scrolling!

The Circus Parade!

We headed downtown for the parade!  The Circus is in town and since we didn't get tickets to see it (Tob's on call this weekend) we decided to check out the parade.  We called Tory and Elizabeth and invited them to go with us.
Ryker!  He had his favorite aunt (I'm second favorite) Tino here visiting.  She leaves for her mission to Florida in September.
My little Stud.  He was so excited to see the elephants!
Tob and Michelle.  Toby is her favorite uncle.
3 out of the 7 kids.  We sure make a scene when we're all together!
Ryker, Tory and Dallas.

Mommy and Wes

Yea!  The parade has begun!  Look at those huge elephants!
They were quite beautiful to see.  You forget how big they are till you get close.  The boys were in awe.
Next came the coolest cars with clowns and acrobats.

Every car we see is compared to the characters of the Disney movie Cars.  This one is like Lizzy!

He's adorable! most of the time....:)
These jeeps drove sideways.

After the parade, we went to the farmers market.  Ryker hung out on our stroller and Wes joined Michelle.  We shared popcorn and I got some delicious cheesecake.
It was so busy!

Love the close-ups.
Harrison slept most of the time.
Christine, me and Elizabeth.  Christine is Elizabeth's sister and will leave for her mission this fall.  She is known as Tino in fam and is a great aunt to Ryker, Michelle and the boys.
Dancing to the music downtown.
The fountains!  Next time I'll remember to bring the boys' swimsuits.  Love Saturdays downtown.
