Happy 2nd Birthday, Dallas!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
How fun to wake up at Grandma Lovey's house for your 2nd birthday!!!  We drove up for the long weekend, and was able to celebrate Dallas' second birthday with the fam.  It has been so fun.  We started the morning with a chocolate muffin and a candle.  He had to practice blowing them out.   What a great job baby D!  Notice how he MUST have a CAR AT ALL TIMES in at least one of his hands!

Wes had to be in on the morning action.  Happy like always!  Hands in the mouth like always!!!

Such a happy boy today!

I get to open presents all day?!?!  "Sweet!"

Nothing like drinking juice out of a Woody cup!  He loves Toy Story and Cars so that is what his birthday theme was.  Got to love Disney movies.

Trying to get this kid to smile is nuts.  He must be moving at all times and doesn't have time to look up at the camera!  He is surrounded by his aunts-Katie, Melissa and Megan.

Thank you!  I love my Tonka Truck!  And it's not made of cheap plastic either(so I won't break it)!  This will be filled with dirt as often as my Mother will allow.  He wanted to sit in it, drink his juice and hold a car.  What better way to spend his birthday?!

It's Cars cupcakes!  We did a family party (Grady's and Walker's came over) and served an ice-cream cake and cup cakes.  Dallas was in heaven.  He loves ice-cream and it was a simple and fun night.

Love the cars on the cake!

Isn't this wreath so cool?  I saw it on a website called HowDoesShe and it was pretty easy to make.  I think it's quite cute and looks great on a front door or a wreath holder.  Dallas loved it too.

Cute banner.

The best wrapping paper!

LOVE his face.  He was so excited to open presents.

"What?  Huh???  You want me to smile?!?!"

"Mmmmm"

"Yum!"

SO CUTE!!!  He did a great job at blowing out the candles.  We had to light them like five times before the Birthday Song was done.  He just wanted to get it over with so he could eat it!

Checkin' out the smoke.

I love you, little man.  You are such a joy in my life.  I hope you had a great birthday.

Happy Birthday little guy!!!
We sure love you!

Things I want to remember for the blog book:

  • Dallas loves cars.  This is his favorite toy hands down.  He goes to bed with cars-sometimes a million of them!  I often go in to check on him to find him asleep with a car in each of this hands.
  • He loves Toy Story and Cars.  It's fun to watch him dance when music is played and to watch his face with the scenes change.  I swear he gets humor-he seems to know all the funny parts.  He is hilarious when he says "Buzz."
  • He loves Wes.  He'll hold his hand and when he wakes from a nap, he wants to give him hugs and kisses.  If he gets hurt, instead of just Mommy kissing him all better, he needs Wes to kiss him as well.
  • I love to read books with Dallas.  He will sit and listen and then point to things and say what they are.  We have some great times together reading lots and lots of books.  I hope he carries this love of reading for his whole life.
  • He loves to be outside.  We go for daily walks and it really makes him happy.  He loves to push the stroller around and it's so funny to watch his little body run around.
  • He adores his dad.  Everyday he points to the door and says "right back" because he knows that Daddy has gone to work and will be right back.  He also yells for Dad after his nap, even though I'm the one who picks him up everyday!
  • He is starting to talk more and more.  We were a bit concerned with his progress on speech, but he is starting to pick up on it.  I love his little voice!  "ME!" is what he says for everything!  He has so many different meanings for that word and it is so funny.
  • The spirit he brings to my life is amazing.  I am so thankful that he made me a mother and I know that I will learn a lot of lessons through him.  He already knows the gospel and I'm thankful for family scripture reading and church activities.  He loves nursery and I love to sing Primary songs with him.
  • He is my buddy.  Helps me with everything.  He can already unload the dish washer all by himself!  I take out the knives and he does the rest.  He'll hand everything to me and the stuff that he can put away in the bottom drawers he does.  I can only hope that he will be this helpful as he gets older!!!  He also helps with the laundry.  I love my little helper.
  • Besides Daddy being his best friend, he has a special place for Grandma Lovey (my Mom).  They are the best of friends.  Whenever he talks with her on the phone, he'll show her things.  He doesn't understand that she can't see them!  He also wants her to come play with him and tries to get her to come through the phone.  It was a great to be home to celebrate his birthday with her.

made it. will post tomorrow. on a real computer too.

stupid computer

I hate not having a photo to go with a post but my computer has decided to go all virusy on me so I'm stuck using Toby's phone. I hate typing on his blackberry. Probably the only one who hates to use the tiny keyboard. Antways, I'll be seeing my uncle this weekend and he'll fix it for me.
Tonight, we went walking on the green belt and did a walk/jog deal. I stink at running. Wish I loved it because then I'd lose this baby weight a whole lot quicker! Any good tips on learning to like running would be appreciated.
My baby turns two on Thursday. Holy stinkin' cow. How did he get to be two? Just yesterday I was in labor for ever trying to get him here. Can't wait to celebrate with him.
Well off to bed. Wes had a night terror last night and it freaked me out. Wouldn't wake up for five minutes and just screamed and screamed. If you saw him you would have thought he was awake but he wasn't. I was scared. Never seen that happen and I'm praying it was a one time thing.

Sunday walks

Can't figure how to post photos on Toby's phone so all you get is text. We went for a Sunday stroll today and it was quite nice. Still cold but luckily NO snow like we had yesterday. I am so ready for Summer. I love sunshine and warm days. Now it's off to bed. No more writing. I hate typing on his phone. Night

I should've taken photos the last time he found a Sharpie.  At least he only got his cheek and chin and finger.  This kid is crazy.  He is nuts.  And therefore, I'm crazy and going nuts!!!!!

And he needs a hair cut.  Anyone want to cut it for me??  He won't sit still for me but will for others.....I'll make you something sweet!!!!  Takers?!?!!

Two posts for April

I am busy all day long and sometimes I get so frustrated. Yet, I am doing exactly what I want to be doing--be a stay at home mom (aka-a nurse, caretaker, house cleaner, chef, PERSONAL chef to Wes, laundry lady, finance person, errand runner, grocery shopper, clothes/house shopper, make things all better......).

This is the hardest job in the world, and I'd argue with anyone who tries to say otherwise. Yesterday was a tough day. I had very little patience with the boys and I was so not wanting to be a mom. It's also that time of the month (tmi-I know), and I can get VERY CRANKY sometimes. Anyways, I got a new craft tool, a Cricut and have yet to sit down and play with it--because I have no time and no room. It was a full fledged pity party for me.

That is until I remembered what day it was. It was two years ago that Toby's friend's daughter choked on an apple and ended up passing away on May 22. I have kept up with her blog and she always makes me want to try harder and be a better mom. My heart just breaks for her family and what they went through. They lost their daughter at such a young age. She wasn't even two yet. I was pregnant and overdue with Dallas when all of this happened. He turns two next week. SO SAD! It's such a battle for me to not get in these bad moods, because I really can be a downer. Yet, I would die if my children were taken from me.

So I gave myself a little pep talk, thanked Heavenly Father for two of the most amazing blessings He could ever give me and went on an evening walk. I know that there will be more bad days, but I was able to turn this one around and make the night a little bit better. Thank goodness!

and here is two posts. just trying to get caught up.

The D man loves to "give knuckles"--- Toby's coworkers taught it to him when he was really little and now he does it to everyone.....if he likes you.
Showing the camera how to do it.

Showing Wes.

Smile?  Nah-I'll show you my tounge AND whatever it was I was eating at the time.

Ladies and Gents-he has found his toes!!!!

Wes found his feet today!!!  He has been looking at them for a few days now, but today he was able to grab them.  And he has loved them ever since.  I was getting ready to change his diaper today and propped him up on my bed and when I turned back around-he had grabbed them.

Such a happy baby (for the most part).  He is still a huge Momma fan and prefers me over anyone (including his dad) and this is sometimes a problem.  Mostly he just sits on my hip.  You would think I would have super strong arms by now, but they are still so dang tired at the end of the day!

He has GREEN eyes!  He'll be like his dad.  Now we have 2 green and 2 brown.  They still change hues depending on the weather and what he's wearing, but they're going green.

Can't believe he'll be 5 months in a few days.  Amazing how quickly the first year seems to go by.

Just had to throw this one in.  Instead of playing with the animals and the barn.  He plays with the cars and the barn!  He sure loves his cars.

Getting There

Since part of my "wellness challenge" is journaling every day, I'm working on getting caught up.  I wouldn't worry about this, but I print my blog into a nice hard bound book and I don't want to miss stuff.  Thank goodness you can back blog and back date entries!

Here are a few to check out.  I'll be adding more as I get them done.

The D Man

This kid makes me laugh and and want to cry or pull out my hair on a daily basis. Can't believe he'll be two in 9 days.

Bath Babes

I know, it's been ages since I've posted anything.  And I wish that I had the time to write lots of updates, but seeing that it's past midnight and I have a baby who is up and crying, this will have to do.  But guess what?!  For all you readers out there (meaning my mother, and three sisters) I will do a post every.single.day for the rest of this month.  PROMISE.  It's part of a "new" thing I'm doing to try and add some balance to my life.  I might not post till late at night, but there WILL be one.

Can you believe he has even less hair now?  The kid is BALD!!!  Dallas never went bald, so this is a sad and new thing for me.

Such good brothers-what you're not seeing----Wes pulling Dallas' hair till he cries, and Dallas drowning Wes till he cries.  Love it.

LOVE him!!!!
