4 Months?!?!?

How is it possible that my baby is 4 months old? Time sure has gone by so fast (at times, soooo very slow). I can't believe that I've survived these past few months and that he has too! :) Just kidding-we've done just fine.
This is mostly for my remembering:
  • He flips over from his tummy and he still hates tummy time, unless he's in the tub
  • LOVES the tub. Cries when I get him out. He could stay in the water forever. Guess he takes after his mom.
  • You can see his two bottom teeth buds....wonder when they'll pop through
  • He loves talking to his Dad, but won't talk to me! This makes me crazy. He'll smile like no tomorrow, but get Dad in the room and he won't shut up. Toby had him one Sunday in Priesthood and had to take him out because he wouldn't stop talking. Me? I don't have that problem! (wish I did!!!)
  • He's starting to get a little bit shy-that means he'll bury his head in my shoulder and I love it! (that's as much cuddle time as it gets until bedtime!)
  • Grabbing onto everything and putting it in his mouth.
  • When he gets mad (which isn't very often) he'll scream like a girl. No kidding--it's so funny. But if you laugh I swear he can tell and then gets even more upset!
  • Still loves to be outside and if he is fussy and I can't calm him, a walk outside makes him happy.

Motherhood is quite the ride, but I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Off

Off to see Grandma Lovey and Papa Muddy and the fam. I'll post up there. My Mom has all my photos from the summer so there will be lots to post!

ps-is his hair not wild??? I've cut it 3 times! He has some bald spots in the back, but I can't bring myself to shave it off. I'll take what I can get!

St. Luke's Celebration Run

First---thank you to all of you who called me and sent me e-mails to make sure I was okay.....I'm fine. I just had to rant about motherhood. I swear, I'm doing better! But, it was great to feel so loved and I know it will get better.

Second, I did the annual St. Luke's Celebration run on Saturday and about froze my butt off! It was pouring and I mean soak through your bone wet. I was supposed to take Dallas in the stroller, but it was too cold and too rainy (plus there was quite a bit of thunder and lightening) so he stayed home with Toby and I went by myself. It was fun to walk with some friends from Toby's work and we enjoyed it. I don't think there was one part of me that was dry and after I got home, I took a nice long HOT shower! I would've taken my camera, but it was too cold and wet. I did the race last year and I hope to do it again, maybe even run it next year.......maybe.

to blog or not.....

***beware, this is a major complaining "whoa is me" post***

I love blogging, I really do. It's my family's journal of the things we do and I really love to read other's blogs. What I love even more is blog stalking. It's such a thrill to peak in on other people and see what their lives are like (esp ones I don't even know).
BUT, since having Dallas, I haven't had any time to post or catch up on hardly anyone's blogs. Why???
Because motherhood is KICKING my butt! I feel like I'm always running behind on everything and I have time for nothing. I prize myself on having a clean house and clean clothes and a good meal on the table but I can't seem to do any of it. I find myself getting Dallas ready in the morning and not even taking a shower myself until the afternoon when he's taking a minuscule nap. (don't get me started on the naps......this kid DOES NOT SLEEP during the day--thank goodness he's not too bad at night-until lately).

I feel like I signed up for this huge race (motherhood) which I thought I was ready for (not) and now I am failing miserably. Life isn't fun and I'm not happy. Don't know why I thought I would just breeze into this new position and be awesome at it. I need work!
Therefore, I'm taking a blogging break (as if I haven't already). I'm going to quit looking at other's blogs and then feel bad about myself for not being as great as they are. I'm going to take back my ME time and figure this mothering thing out. I'm stuck as a mom for life, so I'd better get my butt in gear. I'm not one to mope around and act sad (and no I don't have the baby blues, thank you very much). If you're lucky, you might find a few posts now and then, but don't expect much. I will however tell you that I cleaned up Split Pea Soup aka my SON's POO out of the tub this morning for the SECOND day in a row. yea.
With that said, guess who just woke up?????

***I took off the comments option because I don't want to hear all about that flylady.com crap and how perfect you all are with your children. Or that it's a learning process and to just give it time and someday I'll look back on this day and laugh. Or how I really do stink and thank goodness Dallas is only a baby so he won't know what a crazy mother he has! I just wanted to vent on how I am trying to be better at this mom business.

My BSU Boys

Went to the football game tonight. The boys were all festive with their orange and blue outfits. Pretty cute kids!

Been busy, so no updates yet. I'll get to them sometime. (I can't do updates without photos--mom has them all, so I'm waiting for her to send them. That's a pretty good excuse right?)

Visit from Family

My uncle John had a softball tournament at the beginning of September here in Boise, so we went to see them. Toby even got to play! He had a great time with John and my cousin Ryan. I hung out with my aunt Carol and cousin Chelsea. They did pretty good and it's always fun to watch softball! Afterwards, we went out to dinner and then back to more games. The next day, we had church and then went to the park to walk around before their flight. Toby, Ryan and Chelsea hiked up Camels Back Park. We told Ryan to run straight up the hill and try and see if he can do it in under one minute. He almost did it! I think I would've died about a 1/4 of the way up, but he's in pretty good shape. They took the camera with them and you can see Carol and I from the bottom but we sure look tiny. We had a great time with them and are glad they came to Boise!
My aunt Carol

Tam, Dallas and Chelsea--after his bath. He was grouchy and wouldn't smile for the camera.

Out to eat--such a cute kid. All sweet and innocent. This was his second outfit of the day. I had put him in a cute baseball out (fitting for the softball games right?) and then when we're out eating, I hear this loud boom and there goes his outfit! Not only up the back, but down the leg and on his momma. How fun.

"Mom!! These are your dorky big sunglasses" But Dallas, they sure looked cute on your chubby cheeks! Getting ready to walk up the hill
Ryan, Chelsea and Toby on top of Camels Back
Lots of trees!
Carol, Dallas and I are to the right on the bottom of the sand.

And so we're back....

June, July, August = 92 days
Toby, Tammy and Dallas gone = 52 days

I wasn't kidding when I said we've been gone for half the summer. It's been a fun, crazy summer filled with family reunions, trips to Spokane, Utah, Vegas and lots of family "stuff" but now we're back to stay and I have a million things to post. I'll be updating soon, but for now it's off to fill my kitchen with food. We have nothing.....not even milk and that's saying a lot for a family who loves milk!
