4 Months

The Wes Man
Can't believe he turned four months old on the 21st!  My how time has flown by.  I am just so busy.all.the.stinkin'.time.  It's nuts.  And I'm busy just doing the normal "mommy" stuff at home.  What will my life be like when they are older and in sports/school?!?!

Here's the things I want to remember of my sweet Wesley at 4 months:

  • Wes is such a happy little baby.

  • He's a lot chunkier than Dallas was and I wonder what his stats are.  We'll be heading to the doctor's tomorrow morning.

  • He is going bald!  I remember Dallas doing the same thing, but Wes is really going bald.  I miss his dark hair and hope that it grows back quickly.

  • He is a Houdini when it comes to getting out of his swaddler.  I've never seen a baby manage to get out his swaddler faster than Wesley.  Yet, he sleeps sooooo much better when he is wrapped up tight!  Even my velcro swaddlers can't hold him in.  Little stinker.

  • He won't poop.  Not that you all needed to know that, but it's becoming a problem.  Even juice won't help.  I'm going to ask Dr. tomorrow and see what she says.  Man oh man does his farts stink!

  • He scowls.  Wonder where he got that from.  (not his mother or anything......)

  • No one can make him laugh louder or harder than Mr. Dallas Baby.  He sure loves his brother.

  • Eats like a champ.  I'm so grateful to have easy going babies when it comes to nursing.

  • Sleeping 6-8 hours every night (except this week-growth spurt?  let's hope!)

  • Can't figure out the eye color!  It isn't so blue anymore, but it isn't green or brown.  It looks like the sky on a really cloudy day-grey.  We'll see.  Dallas' eyes were brown all the way by three weeks old.

  • He's doing better on tummy time, and he loves it in the bath.  Guess he doesn't realize that he's on his tummy!

  • He LOVES bath time.  That is, unless he is being choked/drowned/sat on/splashed by his dear brother.

  • Hates car rides.  I've heard of babies not liking the car, but have never experienced it.  Not fun.  Especially when I'm the one driving and can't reach back there to give him the paci.
We love our little Westofer and think he's a lovely addition to the family.  Just the other night, I was thinking of life pre-Wes and I couldn't imagine it!  I am always amazed at how quickly we seem to adapt to adding babies to the family.  I guess that's a good thing.
This little man is giving me a run for my money.  Terrible twos are fast approaching.  He'll be 2 in one month.  I love him, but he makes me crazy and so tired.  He is starting to talk more and it feels like a game trying to figure out what he is saying.

Such a typical look for the D-Man.  So serious!  A friend of mine took these photos.  She was wanting to take some of Wesley, so we headed to the botanical gardens.  BOTH of my boys were not cooperating, but she did manage to get a few.  I'm excited to see the rest.  These photos in this post are the ones she sent so far.  Thanks Lindsay!  I can't wait to see the rest.

See?  He wasn't wanting his photo taken.  But look how sweet Dallas is.  He loves to give kisses to his baby brother.
There's a smile!

Softball Season

Softball starts again!
And we're still not very good!  I am so glad I don't have to play.  I'd much rather watch and take care of the boys.  It's so fun to cheer on the team.
Doin' what he does best.  Playing cars.

"Watch it go, Mom!!!"
"Must I look at you???  I'm busy!"

Cheese!  Such a cute little man.

"Vroom, vroom!"

Loving my new BOB.  It's the best walking stroller ever.
Fawn and Dave cheering on the team.  I've never told our teams name, now you know it.  It's not very appropriate.  Not going to explain it either.  If you don't get it, good.
He so desperately wanted to get out on the field and play with his Dad.

Finally got this one to sleep.  He was a tired boy.  Can't wait for more games!  We love softball season.  Bring on the dirt, fresh air and sore happy losers players.

7 Years Down...

Eternity to go.  I sure love you Toby.  Happy Anniversary!

No fun when Daddy leaves

No fun when Daddy leaves!!! We dropped him off at the airport for a traing in Boston. It was going to be a LLLOOONNNGGG couple of days with NO HELP for me! Right away, Dallas fell and hit his head. You can see his bruise above.
But, we went for walks and went shopping (I know, I'm getting good at taking them out and having minimal problems!!!) Wes learned how to spit bubbles and would soak all of his shirts and bibs.
He sure was a happy camper. As long as I don't leave him, he doesn't care who comes and goes!
Dallas got to watch movies when ever he wanted! Cars is the only one he'll sit through, meaning sit for a solid 10 minutes. Then it's play time. That's okay with me. I like that he isn't glued to TV.
We spent our anniversary at Costco. I bought myself a present-thanks Tobs! :) And we had a slice of pizza for dinner. I was totally bummed on that day, because celebrating 7 years at Costco by yourself is not how I'd imagined it being. Oh well.
The nights were spent playing cars under the table and reading books. We survived the lonely days and were SO GLAD to pick him up and be together as a family.
***Don't you just LOVE Converse on little kids? LOVE them!

Cafe Rio

Head on over to the Clarks are Cookin' to see my version of Cafe Rio's Sweet Pork salad and a new EASY recipe for yummy homemade bread!!!!

Quick shot after naptime

This phot was taken when they both had just woken from a nap. Dallas still looks sleepy and Wes is hungry. But, I love my Steelers Boys. They are so cute and I LOVE how Wes gets to wear all of Dallas' old clothes. I love having boys close in age-despite how crazy life can be.

Food Nanny

While I was home, Mom and I watched this cheesy but cute cooking show called The Food Nanny. It was on the BYU-TV in between conference sessions. The lady goes to people's houses and helps them get back into eating dinner as a family. She has this plan of having different themes each night of the week. While I don't have a problem getting my family together for dinner, I do get stuck on what to make. I created a Clark (Mom's side) family cooking blog, but haven't updated it for a long time. (Expect for today! I added a cookie recipe.)

-Anyways-

Her weekly themes are:

Monday: Comfort Food
Tuesday: Italian
Wednesday: Fish/Meatless
Thursday:Mexican
Friday:Pizza-and not store bought!
Saturday:Grill Night
Sunday:Traditions

I figured I'd try it this week and see what I like/don't like about it and try to make it fit my family. So far this is what we've had.

Monday:Costco! That can be considered comfort food!
Tuesday: Chicken Pot Pie-not really Italian, but oh well.
Wednesday: Mahi-Mahi
and tonight we're having Taco Salad.

As for the rest of the week-
Friday: Pizza on homemade french bread. I'll be trying a new recipe. Will let you know if it's any good!
Saturday: Grilled Chicken
Sunday: Cafe Rio Salad via crock pot

I didn't add my sides, but so far, it's been a pretty good week. I'm not stressing on what to make and the themes are kind of fun. We'll see how the rest of the week goes and if I'll be keeping to this "themed" menu!

oops

Ha ha ha!  This is what I get for quickly putting Wes in the bouncy chair without strapping him in.....  oops.
