Staying in Boise.....

Well, we found out that the job was a no go. Big Bummer-and here's why--

President Obama is trying to pass an Innovation Tax on all Pharma and Medical Sales Companies and on all their research, products and so forth. A 4 Billion dollar tax. That's a lot of money for the companies to come up with. Therefore, most if not all of the companies have put a HIRING FREEZE on all positions. That's where we come in. The Seattle job was IN THE WORKS-meaning WE (almost) HAD THE JOB (the manager was talking to HR about money)......until this proposed bill came up. Now we sit and wait and pray that the bill doesn't pass. The bill also includes a lot of other "stuff" that I'm not aware of but have talked to some people about it and am finding out that it would make a lot of people unhappy if passed.

So, for now we are staying in Boise where we have a good job. We were hoping to make the transition to a new career, but I guess Toby will just stay with the hospital until a new job becomes available.

Seattle

What a whirlwind week it's been! We received a verbal offer for a job in the Seattle area and they wanted us to come up to Seattle so we could scout out the area for housing and to meet some of the rep's Toby would be working with.

So off we went.

Last Sunday night I flew to Spokane to drop off Dallas. It was SO. DANG. HARD. I've never left him before and was a little bit on the emotional side. Pregnancy and leaving your baby was taking it's toll on me. I broke down in tears and think I freaked out my siblings and dad. They just looked at me. All I could muster was "I'm pregnant!" Ha ha, the joys of having added hormones.

I knew that we couldn't take Dallas to Seattle or we would've gotten nothing done. My family had a blast and I'll have to post photos when I get them. He was well taken care of playing with his best buddy, my Mom.

I met Toby in the Seattle airport at 7am on Monday morning and off we went. We had to meet a bunch of people from the company and ended driving over 4oo miles in three days (Bellingham all the way down to Tacoma). We went up to Bellingham and I was able to point out everything that I remembered from when we lived on Whidbey Island. When it's sunny, it is beautiful.

We stayed downtown at the Sorrento Hotel and it was mighty fancy. Our room cost over 500 dollars for the two nights that we were there. Ouch! In the elevator, they change the rug everyday to remind you what day it is. I had to snap a photo. It was quite the fancy place and we enjoyed staying there and how they treated you. (like how my belly is sticking out in the photo!?)

Over all, it was a busy trip. Meeting people-wining and dining-talking business-looking for homes-trying to find places in Seattle--yea for GPS systems!

We'll find out on Friday if this is a sure deal or not. We have mixed feelings about taking the job. Especially with how busy Toby will be traveling and a new baby coming in December. Change is always hard-even if it's good.

Softball with team Avalon

My Uncle John and his softball team had a tournament in Boise, so we were able to go and see them. Carol came with him-and we had a great fast weekend! John's team is called Avalon and Toby was able to play with them last year. They have come the past 3 years so it's been tradition to go and see them.

It was so hot! Still felt like summer even though it's now September. Love the Indian Summer though-it will be getting cold soon.

Toby and Dallas. His cheeks were so red from running around everywhere! He loved seeing the balls and wanted to be on the field. Someday little man. He does love balls of all shapes and sizes.

Dallas boy playing in the grass. He had just started getting a cold. You can see that he doesn't feel very good in his eyes. I hope this isn't a winter full of sickness! Guess we'll be getting that flu shot soon.

We had a great time! We took Carol to the mall in between games and had fun shopping and just hanging out. We were able to go to dinner at the Olive Garden and I think we laughed more than we ate! Carol came to church with us the next day and enjoyed helping me contain Dallas. He is quite the wiggle worm!

We're so glad you guys came to Boise and had a great time watching you play softball.

Somebody needs a saftey helmet.....

On our way out to the park, Mr. Dallas stumbles and falls smack down on the concrete. Ouch! Before I could get him in the house, his forehead was a bloody mess and he was screaming. I put him in the bath and cleaned up the wound-not too bad, but pretty deep.

Notice how purple his head looks?!? This is to go with a huge goose egg on the left and a brown bruise on the right. Lovely.

We made a trip to the hospital since Dad was working and he made a bandage out strips and Derma Bond. It's like superglue for the skin. Luckily it wasn't bigger or else he would've had to get stitches!

Once we were home, the little dude became himself again and look what I caught him doing!?!?

No wonder he needs a helmet! He's crazy.

BSU's first Game

Love this photo, even if it is blurry. You can tell he has a runny nose-thanks to teething, but he is still a happy boy!

We were getting ready to go to the tailgate party for the BSU vs. Oregon game last night. I'm surprised I don't have anything BSUish for Dallas to wear except his shoes! Guess I'd better get him something. At least he has orange stuff.

He was showing Daddy his Lego's. He's almost smiling-which is pretty good for him.

Happy Baby! Toby's work has a tailgate party for every home game. It was sooo dang hot and busy last night, but we still enjoyed it. We didn't get tickets for this game, but hope to go to at least one of their home games. We went two years ago for my brother's 16th birthday and that was a lot of fun. The blue smurf turf is quite amazing to see in person. Glad BSU did so well. It's a lot of fun to live in a college town where everyone gets excited for football season. And now that Ian Johnson plays for the Vikings, it's even more exciting! We hope he does well. He was a great football player for BSU and everyone enjoyed watching him. Got to love football!

Toby won a new Callaway FT9 Tour Driver!!!!

He's such a lucky dog.

He went to Golf Galaxy to test drive the drivers so he could get 2 free golf balls. While there, you could sign up to win the new Callaway driver. He signed up and thought nothing of it. The main reason he was there was to get the golf balls (anything for free, right?)!

Well, when we were at the family reunion, they called him to say that he won! This is a $400 dollar driver so he was quite excited. He's been looking at the new Taylor Made drivers, but I think he'll be keeping this one.

Anyone want to go golfing?!?

Congrats Toby-maybe we should play the lottery.........

Gangsta Baby

He's got two bumps on the sides of his forehead. The kid looks like I beat him!!!

Can we say skinny!?!?!? He's wearing 12 month clothes at the age of 15 months. His pants were falling down him all day.

A CRIB!!!!!

We finally decided to put up Dallas' crib.

I know, I know-he's 15 months old and hasn't made the transition yet to a crib----but he's in one now. We had to change his room big time to get a crib in there, and were just waiting till we either moved to a new place here in Boise or got a new job and moved out of state. Well, since things are moving slowly, we decided it was time to get him into his own bed. We got a bigger storage shed, and took everything out that wasn't his and put it in the storage. We REALLY need a new place.

Now Dallas has his own room (minus my craft stuff, which is shoved in there somewhere!).

Dallas "helping." He would try and help Toby with everything he did. We let him carry around the styrofoam. That is until he started to shred it......thanks buddy.

It's up! He was so excited! Notice the bruises on his forehead?!?!? I can't keep that kid safe from anything. Maybe I should invest in a helmet.

Time for bed. He fell asleep really quickly but was up quite a bit. I hope tonight will go better. I think it will take a little while for him to get used to sleeping in a place that's twice the size of this port-a-crib!
