After The Party

Opening a present from my Aunt Linda-Thanks for the shoes! They are too cute. Dallas was more interested in the box and the wrapping paper. We had a few presents from friends and family to open. He is definitely loved! We told people not to bring him presents, but they did anyway! THANK YOU!!!

Loved to ripe the paper and then hand it to me.

We took him swimming after dinner since it was such a hot day. He is so skinny that his swimsuit kept falling off! I am so grateful for those swim diapers. No big mess to clean up and he can stay in the pool as long as he likes!
Dinner and cupcake. Can't get a more perfect 1st birthday. He loves to stick out his tongue. Happy Birthday little man! Can't believe you are 1. I love you so much.

Pinata!

Getting ready to set up the pinata. Dave tied Miles to the rope and told him to run. It was so funny! he almost pulled the pinata down from the tree. Silly kids.

We got Dallas a fire truck pinata with lots of good candy! It started to rip so we had to tie the rope around the whole thing. We sure filled it good.
I stripped the little man down to his onsie since he was so messy from the cake. He liked rolling around in the grass. Good thing is was in the 90's so he wasn't cold. I love babies in only a onsie. Their legs and feet are too cute!

Paige helping Taylor. She has twins and they will turn two this summer. It's been fun to watch them grow up! I took their photos when they were just babies.

John held the rope for us and here is, tricking his son Daniel. He would pull the rope up so Daniel couldn't hit the pinata. He did get a few shots in and made a good dent.

He did the same thing with his daughter, Andrea. She got a few cracks in it and out comes some candy! If you look at the faces-they are all excited to see that candy drop!

It was demolished. Lots of good treats under the tree. I'm glad we did this-it was fun. Dallas just laughed every time they hit the thing and then got some candy himself! He sure loves chocolate. Must be my kid.

It's Cake Time!

Not sure what to do with it. We helped him blow out the candle.

Starting to eat it! I helped him out by sticking his fingers in the icing and then putting them to his mouth. That is all it took--he did the rest.

Love this shot! Our good friend Heidi took most of these photos for me while I was getting the cupcakes and other food. Thank you, Heidi! You got some great shots of my messy little boy. His finger is up his nose.....had to shove that cake in as fast as he could. :)

Almost pushed the cake over the edge.

Look! He has a goatee, like his daddy!

All done, he ate a lot of the cake and then smashed everything else.....

Peek-a-boo! I see you! He was SUCH A MESS! But, I think he enjoyed it and later on that night wanted a cup cake. Glad you had a happy first birthday cake, Dallas!

Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Dallas! We had a little party at Camels Back Park on his birthday. It was a lot of fun and lots of people came to celebrate. We cooked hot dogs, and had strawberries, grapes, chips and pop. We made Dallas a little cake and then made cupcakes for the guests. We also had a pinata which the kids loved! Thanks to all who came and brought gifts--He loves them!

Getting ready to eat some grub.
We got some balloons that said, "Happy 1st Birthday" and then a big blue number 1. He loves balloons and has played with them all week.
The guests eating food
This photo is a little dark, but you can see Toby firing up the grill.
Fawn and Dave. Dave works with Toby in the Cath Lab. Fawn made him the cutest little monster. I've got to get a picture of it. Dallas loves it and I think it was his favorite present!

Cute little Miles. His sister was born on Dallas' due date so it was fun to have two little one year olds.

more to come....

skills

We're talking about dipe-wipes and how many Toby had to use because Dallas had a major poo job. He said, "I only needed 3 because of my mad skills......."

By all means--Toby you can change his stinky diaper ANY TIME! ha ha ha

For Grandma Love

Hope you enjoy! It's taken with our little camera, so not the best video--but at least you can see him in all his glory!

Notice that he is shoving in his paci!? He can almost put the whole thing in his mouth. Silly kid. :)

one photo

We had a great time. Updates to come!

Happy 1st Birthday Dallas!

Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy! I can not believe you are already one. Time has gone by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday, I was at the hospital getting ready to give birth. What a year it has been. You have grown and learned so much--but have taught your dad and I even more. Being a parent sure has been a roller coaster and I have loved every minute!
I wanted to write some things down to remember your first year. There are lots of them, but these are what stuck out in my mind.

What you've been up to your first year:
-You love to stand, on anything.

-You love chocolate and ice cream. You must have your mother's sweet tooth. :)

-You don't like to be dirty. You'll make sure you cry if your messy or if your hands are dirty.

-First thing in the morning you give me the biggest smile and usually offer one of your many pacifiers to me. What a sweet offering.

-You have flown 9 times! You love plane rides and the flight attendants would pick you up and walk the isles. They all thought you were the cutest baby they had ever seen.

-You started WALKING the day before you birthday. As in yesterday! I put you on the ground, and you pulled yourself up and took 3 steps. Smiled at me and then clapped your hands while still standing.

-You can say "Dada" and "Mama"

-You have gotten at least 6-9 hair cuts. You had so much hair when you were born and you didn't lose that much!

-Swimming has become a favorite of yours. You get so excited when you get in the water and splash everything in sight. You don't mind having the water dumped on your head and you cry when we get you out.

-You love animals and you wave at every squirrel and bird we pass on our daily walks.

-At the park, your favorite thing to do is swing. I could leave you in there forever and you'd be happy.

-Sometimes, when it's quiet and I think you're in trouble somewhere, I'll find you sitting in your room reading a book. I am so happy you love books! Every night we read The Going to Bed Book and you love it.

-You are a speed demon when it comes to crawling. I can put you down and in two seconds, have no idea where you went.

-You LOVE cars and anything with wheels. You love to see sirens and flashing lights and will stop what ever you are doing if you hear a loud vehicle coming.

Happy 1st Birthday, my sweet baby boy. I love you so much and am so thankful to be your mother. What a wonderful blessing you are to our family and what a great big brother you will be someday!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to take a trip to Twin Falls to see the temple and to see Shoshone Falls. It was a quick 2 hour drive, so we packed up and headed out. When we got to the hotel, Toby asked if they had any free upgrades and we got one! He got us a one bedroom King Suite with a separate living room. It was great to have such a large hotel room and I wished we would've stayed more than one night.

Love this photo of Dallas looking in the mirror!!! He has his tongue sticking out.
He was so happy to be out of the car and was crawling all over the place. I love his excited expression and how he is clapping his hands.

We took Dallas swimming that night and he had such a blast. We could barely contain him to try and get a photo! He was so excited to get in the water.

What a funny photo. He is splashing and laughing/screaming-he looks a little weird in this one, but I had to throw it in. He really did have a great time.

Mom and babe.

The next morning we got up and headed out to see the falls. I wished we would've gone when the water was full---usually it covers all of the rocks, but it has been a dry summer and they had already cut off some of the water for the farms for irrigation. Still, it was pretty and fun to go and see.
We were able to have someone take our photo. It's always nice to get a photo of all three of us.

The canyon below the falls. I think this is the Snake River, but I'm not sure. It was such a hot day that we didn't do much hiking around the falls.

Cute Toby. He's such a good sport to let me take his photo. Doesn't he look great?!

Mom-I actually let Toby take one of me and the falls. You should be so proud.

Got to love the "hold your hand out as far as you can to take the photo" photo! We've been doing this shot since we started dating. I love Dallas' shoe.

Still in love after 6+ years. :)

Helping Dallas walk. He is getting so close to walking on his own. I'm sure he'll be walking by his 1st birthday.

After we were done with Twin Falls, we headed out to Balance Rock. It was pretty cool to see it. Reminded me of the Arch's and other cool rock formations in Utah. We put Dallas in the hiking back pack and hiked to the top. It was HOT.

There's my boys!

Looks like a snake's head huh?! View from the top.

There were other hikers there, so we had our photo taken. Good thing it's not up close. We were sweaty.

I put the camera on the car so we could get a photo of us down below. You can see people hiking up to it. It was pretty far up there, but it was a good hike.

We ended the night with a picnic at Balance Rock Camping area. There was a stream where people were fishing and we saw a snake (ewwww). Dallas and I enjoyed swinging and playing in the grass.
The backpack doubled as a high chair and that worked great! We ate our dinner and enjoyed the evening.

Picture of the horse shoe pits they had. My Grandpa would love these! He's a master when it comes to this game. The area was really pretty and we would love to go back and camp.
It was a great little getaway! We had so much fun in the two days that we had and it was great to be together as a family. I hope we do more of these!
