Merry Christmas!

The results are in........

Make it pink, make it blue, MAKE IT PINK!

We think it's a girl.....95% sure it's a girl. It wasn't my 20 week ultrasound, we just had some friends at the hospital do it (they do ultrasounds on hearts) and they were pretty sure it was a girl. We searched for about 45 minutes. The baby has long legs and arms and they think my due date might be moved up. We're pretty excited although I did want a boy first, but that's okay. We got a video and as soon as I change it to a DVD, I'll post it. She stretched out quite a bit and that was really cool to see her tiny fingers and tiny toes!

I have my 20 week ultrasound on January 3rd, so we'll let you know if any boy parts show up!

Today. 2:30. Hope the kid's not nervous!
Because, we are impatient and can't wait any longer!!!!!!!

Christmas Lights

I always get the biggest kick out of houses that have music to go with their Christmas lights. Enjoy this video. If you want to see more, click here.

It's a girl!

Not mine-my brother-in-law! Tom and Alicia had a baby girl yesterday. She was 6 lbs, 7 oz and 20 inches long. They named her Isabella Thornton. Hope to have pictures of her soon! Congrats!

***We are going to have an early ultrasound this Friday. One of Toby's coworkers will do the ultrasound and hopefully we'll find out what we're having before Christmas! If not, we'll have to wait till January 3rd to find out. Make sure you vote. By the looks of things-everyone thinks we're having a boy! :)

100 posts and baby photo!

Holy Cow! 100 posts already!

We went to the doctor's yesterday for a checkup and when she went to find the heartbeat-she couldn't find it! I started to get a little bit nervous and my heart rate went up so we got a quick ultrasound. (no, the babe wouldn't let us see what he/she was....very sad). Anyways, the placenta was on the top and that's why it was difficult to hear the heartbeat. But, the babe is fine and has a good strong heartbeat (152 beats per minute) and was moving all over the place. We were able to get a cute profile photo-still kind of looks like a blob though. But he/she is super cute!

Botanical Gardens

Tory, Elizabeth, Michelle, Toby and I went to the Botanical Gardens for FHE on Monday. It was sooo cold but very pretty! It looked like a tiny Temple Square with all the lights. We were able to walk around and see everything lit up and drink hot chocolate and eat cookies. Even though it was super cold, it was pretty fun. Such pretty lights!

Michelle was a happy baby!

Oh what a night!

And oh what a night it was! Toby and I went to the Cath Lab Christmas party and we a ton of fun. It was a bowling party! We had dinner and then it was off to bowl. Everyone in the Cath Lab got dressed up in some kind of bowling attire. The night before the party, dear sweet Toby asked me to go out and find him a bowling shirt.....I told him there was no way I was going to find one the day of the party. But, I went out and sure enough---the DI (thrift store) had exactly what I was looking for. A gross black and tan shirt that looked like it was meant for bowling. I then went to Joanne's Fabric store and got little letters to iron on his shirt. It looked great. He now has an official bowling shirt! We even had people ask us if it was a real bowling shirt and when we told them we got it at the DI, they were amazed that we were able to find one with Toby's name on it......hmmmmm.

Anyways, it was a great evening. The first game went okay, I didn't do so hot. The second game I almost broke 100. Almost, a 96-and for me, that's pretty good. I know that Toby broke 100 both times, he's a pretty good bowler. Everyone seemed to have good time and some were a little bit crazy. John aka "Wilbert" decided to slide down the bowling alley only to do a belly flop and land right on his ribs. Ouch, but very very entertaining. Santa and his helpers showed up to hand out gifts and many people were dancing away to the awesome music. We had Monte Carlo prizes and door prizes. Toby and I got a gift certificate to Cheesecake Factory and then I won movie tickets because I hit the colored pin (I got a strike that time). It was one of the best work parties I had ever been to!

We ended up going to another coworker's house to play games and didn't make it home till 3:30 in the morning!!! We were sure tired the next day. So glad Toby has such great coworkers and that they sure know how to party!

Andy getting ready to throw a gutter.....he mostly did that all night. It was quite the sight to see the ball being thrown half way down the alley, only to end in the gutter. :)

Toby and I.

Robin and Louis (on the right) who brought a friend....don't know the name.

John, aka "Wilbert" along with his nasty Mullet hat. We all thought he was a little white trash.....especially when he tried to slide down the alley. His poor wife Lori!

The classic look of the night. Brice and Paige. Love the hairdo's and the glasses!

Kelly, Tom and his wife and Tony.

Tom and Jerilyn, Diane and Jim

This guy was a pretty hot bowler! :) Love the shirt!

My beautiful Nativity

I have the most beautiful nativity in the world! It's all due to my wonderful Mom. She bought this nativity from Costco while I still in high school. I have always loved it and have wanted one like it forever. Well last year, she found me one. She has been looking for it for YEARS and was never able to find it and finally she found one on EBay. She bid on it right away and even lost sleep over it thinking someone else would outbid her! I know she paid an arm and a leg for it and I am so thankful! It is beautiful and I have never seen one like it. My grandparents brought it to me after visiting in Spokane and it was all wrapped up and my Grandpa video taped me opening it. I was talking to Mom on the phone and started to cry when I figured out what it was. I didn't know if she had found me one or was letting me use hers or what was going on! I was just thrilled to find out it was mine and I will treasure it forever. I love having nativities in our home to remind me of Christ's birth and I have quite a few of them. This one is the first thing you see when you walk into our house. Thanks Mom!

O Christmas Tree!

Here's our Christmas tree in all it's glory! It's been fun to have a live tree, despite having to vacuum more often and water it. We had to rearrange our living room to make room for the tree. We have never had to do that because every year we cop out of getting a tree and just use our little 3 footer. Now all of my ornaments fit on the tree!! It smells so good and the lights and ornaments look so nice! My favorite thing to do at night is have a cup of hot chocolate and turn all the lights off except the Christmas tree and listen to the Carpenter's Christmas. It's one of my absolute favorite Christmas traditions!

Christmas Ornaments

I love to decorate the Christmas tree because each ornament is so special! When I was growing up, Mom and Dad would always give us a new ornament each year. Mom would keep a list each year of our ornaments, along with any we received from other people. When I got married, I was able to take those ornaments with me. It was a good thing, because Toby didn't bring any ornaments! I still continue with this tradition and now I get to include Toby. We try to get an ornament from all the different places we have lived or visited. Here are a few of my favorites--

I got this in 2005 when we went to Disney World. You put a light inside it so it glows. Very cute! Mom also picked out the same ornament. We always seem to pick out the same stuff. Must have gotten my good taste from her!

Toby and I bought this when we were in San Diego this past August. We both love the beach so it seemed just right to have it on our tree.

Megan and Melissa made me this "Hershey's Kiss" a few years ago. Very creative!

Mom and I made these snowman lightbulbs. They are one of my favorite ornaments!

And who could forget my favorite football team??? I think we have 3 ornaments for the Steelers on our tree!!!

still going to the bathroom...............

Well you would think that since I am in the second trimester (16 weeks, YEA!), I wouldn't have to go to the bathroom quite as much anymore.....nope. I still do and it still bugs me! Therefore, I thought this cartoon was appropriate for how I feel. The only thing that hasn't changed are my feet....yet.

Catching up

Well, Thanksgiving was a blast. I spent 2 weeks in Spokane visiting family. Toby was up there for one week and then he had to come home and go to school and work. Glad that he let me stay so long! We had dinner at my house with the Walkers and the Gradys. It was soooo good! We had two turkeys, (one was grilled-way yummy!) and lots of food.
I didn't take any pictures! I will have to wait for mom to send me some. Guess I was having too much fun to pick up the camera.

We did the usual-shopped, ate, and just lounged around. Mom and I changed the fishy bathroom and it looks really cool. The kids think it's no longer a 'kid bathroom,' but they're getting older. I'll post photos of that too.

I got home on Friday night and on Saturday, Toby and I got our first live Christmas tree! Why it's taken us 5 years to finally get one, we don't know. Guess out little fake 3 footer wasn't doing the job anymore! The tree is sooo pretty! I haven't decorated it yet, but I do have the lights on and Mom will be so proud to know that I added white and colored lights! Growing up, I would always throw a fit because Mom liked white lights and I liked colored. She got the great idea to do both---and during the day, she just has the white lights plugged in and then at night, she has both. It really is quite pretty and it makes the tree brighter. Now I do the same! I will add pictures of that too, as soon as I get my house cleaned up (being gone for two weeks.....) and decorated!
