Pay It Forward.....again

Doing it again, so if you missed my post the first time, here's your chance to get something homemade from me! If there's more than 3, that's okay too.

So, here's how this game works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or be lazy and copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift!

Blog Honesty

I love blogging, I really do. I don't have much free time (anytime) and when I do, I like to read blogs and see photos and hear about life outside my little 2 bedroom apartment. So today, I was thinking about motherhood and my baby being 9 months old and why I feel like everyone is perfect but me............and I realized that we only put on the blogs what we want others to see. Why would anyone put something on the blog that would make them look less than perfect???

Then I started to think of the blogs I love to read on a daily basis. Why do I love these blogs? It's because the women who write are human! Not only do they write about their perfect days, but they write about their days where they haven't showered and their kids are making them pull their hair out.

So, my conclusion is this-- I am going to start writing about all of my days-the ups and the downs. I use this blog as a journal and I should be able to write what I want. Why am I so afraid to write something that might make me look silly or less than perfect?! We all know that I'm not, so let the blog honesty begin!

Hope this post makes sense. It's almost 1am and my son is rolling around on my bed because Toby and I decided to watch some tv shows on the Internet. We have to go and check on him to make sure he hasn't rolled off the bed (which he almost did) and that he isn't face down (which he was at some point). Ahhh......

Toby just said good night and good riddance. Good night.

9 Months

***For my journal.

I can't believe that Dallas is already 9 months old. Enough said.
He is growing more and more every single day. We are in size 2 diapers by day, and size 3 at night. (took a few leaks for me to realize that he needs a bigger diaper at night....slow learner) He can still fit into 6 month clothing, but is so tall that even the 9 month clothing looks short on him! He's a skinny kid. We go for his 9 month check up on Monday and I'll post his stats then.
He loves to eat real food and usually likes what we give him. Sometimes he's not too fond of veggies, and gets quite offended when I feed him beans. It's quite funny. I think he takes after his mom and loves spices. Sometimes I'll give him a few bites of what I'm eating and he loves it. I hope he stays a pretty good eater.
He is moving EVERYWHERE! He's not crawling yet, but can leap forward and scoot or roll to get anything he wants. No more putting him on my bed or somewhere where I can't watch him all the time. He wants to walk, and I'm sure run---it will happen sooner than later.
He is sort of sleeping through the night. I think he is growing because he has started to wake up again and want to eat. I am hoping this ends soon as we all know that I need sleep! Often times when I come to check on him at night, he is face down in bed. He loves to sleep on his belly. This scares me and I turn him over. Then I fret all night that he is going to suffocate and Toby will tell you that I've gotten up many times to see if he's breathing. Will I ever stop being paranoid???
He LOVES being outside. We go for walks almost everyday-even if it's just to the mail box and around the apartment complex. If it's sunny, we'll go to the park and swing. It's so fun to see how happy he gets when he's on the swings. He loves to play at the park and see other kids.
Still loves to read books and will sit by himself and open them. He doesn't chew on them yet! I hope to teach him not to eat the books and so far, he's doing good.
He knows some sign language. We're working on "all done," "more" and "yeah!"
He loves his dad and me too, I think. I never in my life thought that motherhood would be so hard. I look around at other people's blogs and they seem to have this mothering thing down just so and that their children are perfect. I know that we only write what we want people to read, but it still makes me wonder if I'm the only one who has troubles sometimes. I hope that I become the perfect mother someday, but it will take me a long time to get there. I guess a few more babies will help too. Despite a few days of wishing I wasn't in this full time job, I truly do love Dallas. He makes me so happy and I am amazed at the little things that bring him joy. He is a beautiful baby!
***9 month photos to come soon. We still have some nasty colds in my household and you can see it in his face that he doesn't feel very good. Hopefully we'll be getting better.

surprised

Did really no one want a homemade gift from me besides Ashley??? I for sure thought I would get more comments. After all, I am pretty crafty. (well, sometimes)

I finally had to beg my mother to add her name to the list and then my sister did too. Too bad they both want Dallas.......as my mother puts it-he is homemade!

Boys

My Mom snapped this photo of Toby's hat and Dallas' shoes. Pretty dang cute! Like father, like son. Toby found these shoes at a re-sale shop for $3 and just had to get them for Dallas. He does look pretty good in them. All ready to play ball.

FHE at the park

We finally had some decent weather yesterday so we headed out to the park for FHE. Dallas loved the swings! He could spend all day there if we let him.
He's such a happy baby. Can you believe he's almost 9 months??? Time has gone by so fast.

I am hoping the weather stays nice from here on out. I am sick of winter! I want it to be hot and summertime.

I'm starting to feel human again, I HATE being sick. I had the flu and a nasty head cold. I don't get sick very often but when I do, it's not pleasant. Oh well, glad to be feeling better!

Love Day

Happy Love Day!!!

We had a pretty low key day, both Dallas and I are sick....bummer.

Toby and I started a new tradition-instead of getting each other cards and writing how much we loved one another, we spent about 35 minutes at Fred Meyers showing each other different Valentine's Day cards. It was hilarious! Toby would pick out a few and tell me these are the ones he would've gotten me and then I'd do the same. I think we'll stick with buying Anniversary cards, but for V-Day, this was fun. Plus we didn't spend any money and I think I gave him about 40 cards in all!

SWEET!

I can't handle Steelers Football! I was on the edge of my seat for the last two minutes of that game. Holy crap! I was almost in tears to think that we were going to lose.....but my boys came out on top and we won the Super Bowl!!! Yahoo! 6 rings for the Black and Gold!!!

What an amazing game against the Arizona Cardinals. Don't you just love their coach, Ken Whisenhunt? He coached for the Steelers and I think he is a great guy and my heart just broke for him when they lost. But, I am so proud of my Steelers. They are known for their excellent defense but I think the offense won this game. Big Ben isn't my favorite, but he did do pretty good last night! And I LOVE their coach, Mike Tomlin. I'm sure he was quite proud of his team.

We spent the weekend up in Spokane for a surprise super bowl party. Toby and I flew up on Saturday afternoon and surprised my siblings. It was such a fun weekend. We decorated the house and made sugar football cookies and Toby and I brought up a Terrible Towel Cake. It was so dang cute!
Mom eating some yummy food! We always have the best party food and I love love love spinach dip!
Getting our seats to watch the game on the big tv!
Smile everyone!
walking down to the basement Don't you love the balloons and the black an gold streamers?!
The cutest football cookies ever!

Toby's number is 42 and Dallas doesn't have a number so I used 27-his birthday number! Cute jerseys huh?!

My little sister, Melissa and number 43-cutest little rookie ever!

AGH!!!!!!

It's here, it's here.....the SUPER BOWL!

GO STEELERS!

We're having a party-with a Terrible Towel Cake and all. SO DANG CUTE.

Will post LOTS of photos.

Hope we win!

***Love the Cardinals, and if we have to lose-what a great team to lose too. (but, hopefully we won't!)
