fun with cousins

Does this post even need words?  What the boys did when we got together Easter night.

Easter

We had Stake Conference (broadcasted from SLC) so church was a bit different today.  They were great talks with reminders of Easter and the Resurrection and despite making my kiddos sit for two hours, I did manage to get something out of it!

We TRIED to get a family photo after church.  Not much luck.  Like the door knob in the background?  It was out of the photo till Dallas decided to help me take the picture.  Wes is eating his thumb and Dallas is screaming about the Easter Bunny.  Toby and I look like we're exhausted......which we totally are.  I won't be blowing this photo up that's for sure!

Finding the hidden Easter baskets!!  I vowed to never do this because my parents (mainly my Dad) would hide them in places that we would never find them---to the point of tears or frustration.  But we did hide them this year and it only took Dallas a minute to get his.  And then he helped Wes find his as well.

 Fun stuff!

Dallas was so excited to get a chocolate bunny in his basket.  Don't know exactly why, but he sure was happy!  Toby said it tasted like crap.  Guess he's a chocolate snob.  :)

 Wes with his basket.

Easter grass is out.  I should've listened to the Tobster because my kids hated it and in 2.5 seconds it was all over the house.  Gross.  Notice Wesley's mouth shoved full with candy?!?  He takes after his Mom.

Look it's me!  I'm actually a part of the festivities.  I need to be better at passing the camera to Toby.  Although right now I feel and look like a beached whale....

Candy all over his face.  Yum.
Gross-two suckers at once and one is stuck in that dang grass.

 He loves candy-any kind

Just had to add this photo of his eye lashes.  Why do the boys get the most beautiful and long and full lashes?!?!?!  What the heck?

We had a great Easter.  3 hour nap for all, traditional ham dinner and yummy strawberry dessert.

Coloring of the eggs

I now remember why I am not a fan of dyeing Easter eggs.  MESSY.

Wes wasn't allowed to really help since I didn't want dye all over my kitchen so we wrapped an egg and gave it to him.  He demolished it (wish he would've eaten it) in less than five minutes.  No wonder why we call him "Wes-A-Mess"!

He needs a hair cut so bad.

Look what the kid did!  He smashed it and chose to put his fingers through it.
Silly kid.

My attempt at being crafty.  We had this blue powder stuff so I tried to make a BSU egg.  Wish it would've been in focus.

 Wes' creation.

 Working hard.

He was covered in crap.  So in the sink I put him.  He thought it was the funniest thing ever.  Wes wasn't happy that he wasn't invited!

 Hi Mom!

 Our lovely creations

Think I won't be sad if we skip this tradition from now on.  :)

reading books

One of my most favorite things to see.  When the house gets too quiet and I'm not sure what the boys are doing, I hope it's this.  Love how he loves to read.
Hopefully I'll capture a photo of Wes sometime soon.

His cheesy smile.  Photo's too dark but I love it anyways.

April Fools

April Fools day sure played a trick on us!  It was a gorgeous day---but the days following were not.  Thanks for that little joke, weather.
We spent the day outside and running errands, it was such a warm day.

Love plaid shirts on my boys.  I think they look adorable.

Toby had extra change in his car and gave it to Dallas to put in his piggy bank.  He loves to put the money in, and Wes likes to help.

 Cute Toby with his boys.

Not but two seconds after I snapped this photo, Dallas dropped the bank and it shattered.  Didn't grab a photo because I was trying to keep the boys' hands out of the ceramic!  Ugh.  That will teach me to buy him a breakable piggy bank.

Dallas helped Toby mow the lawn.  We're starting child labor early here!!!

But as you can see-he loved it.

 Push boys!

Wes didn't grasp the concept as well.  He wanted to push it but doesn't understand that he's to short.  :)

They were memorized by Dad working in yard.  I wanted to grab a cute photo of them both, but they would not look at me at the same time!

"Mom!"  "I'm digging in the dirt-no time for photos"  So blurry ones will have to do.

We love chalk at our house!  They boys come in with the most colorful clothes after they've played with it.  Good thing is washes out so well.

It was a great day to be outside and hang with the family.

What we did today.....

Lined cars up while Wesley was napping.

I'm thinking the fire engine was taking a nap as well-he was covered in burp cloths.

Had a picnic outside for lunch!  It was FINALLY a nice day and the boys and I took full advantage of the sun.

Toby and I worked on cleaning out the garage (aka-junk room) and it is almost finished.  It was so nice to get things cleaned and organized in there!  Getting ready to buy an extra fridge/freezer-never knew I'd be so excited for it.  Room to make freezer meals and put our million gallons of milk from Costco in it!

We watched the twins today!  Poor Michelle is back in the hospital and we were able to help out Elizabeth by taking the boys.  Dallas helped me feed Max.  I was surprised he wanted to help and he did a great job.  Guess he's getting ready for his baby brother.

 Giving Max kisses.

Love how his hand is on his head.  He is a sweet big brother to Wes (most of the time....)

Feeding Luke.  I can only tell them apart because Luke is bigger than Max.  It was fun to have them at our house.  We had four boys!  At one point, I was rocking Luke and my belly was freaking out-moving everywhere.  It was funny to be holding a tiny baby on the outside, knowing I was carrying one on the inside!!

Tomorrow we get to have Ryker over for the day.  Dallas is excited to have his favorite cousin come play.  The babies were fun, but Ryker talks and actually plays with Dallas.  :)  He tried to play cars with the twins, but it wasn't the same.
