Happy Halloween!

We went to visit Toby at work today and brought him pumpkin sugar cookies. It's become a tradition-three Halloweens in a row! Dallas was in his orange "I love Mummy" shirt and they sure thought he was cute!
We'll be walking down Harrison Blvd early tonight and I can't wait. It's like a scene from a movie--all the houses decorated and the fall leaves, it is just beautiful. We walked down it last night and I took photos, but I'll take more tonight. Dallas will be a pumpkin for the walk down Harrison.
Then we're off to two parties. Toby and I will be referees (I got us shirts from Footlocker), all decked out with whistles, yellow flags and black pants and Dallas will be #43, Troy Polamalu from the Steelers. He has Polamalu's jersey and then we have a Steelers football, blanket, pacifier and socks. It's perfect! Can't wait to post photos of our fun night. Happy Halloween!!!

5 Months

My, my, my-how time flies by! Dallas is already 5 months old and growing so much. He is such a character and is always making me laugh at the silly things he does.

Things for me to remember:
~Started eating rice cereal on a daily basis. He has it for breakfast and for dinner. Does pretty good at keeping it in his mouth but every once and a while, he'll catch my hand or the bowl and then it's all over from there! Today he sneezed right when I fed him a bite and it went all over my clothes. It was disgusting! He just smiled which made me laugh. (by the way---both Toby and I tried the stuff. It's gross! Can't wait till I can mix some fruit in it......but Dallas doesn't seem to mind it. Poor kid-doesn't know what he's missing!)

~He is talking sooo much! I love how he is finding his voice. He'll talk to mostly anyone and he talks the most to his daddy. What a lucky guy! It's so funny to hear his voice change and I love to hear his laugh.

~Eczema is not our friend......he seemed to have gotten his daddy's skin and now it has become a game to figure out what creams I can use. I am getting pretty close to calling his doctor to get a prescription. Not fun. He started to get a bad rash on his bum and Desitin wasn't working too good. I have used other brands in the past and they don't work as good either....so when I was back east, I tried my aunt's stuff and it work perfectly! The only downside is that it's $30 a tub!!!! What the heck?!? Why is it that only the super expensive stuff works on this kid?

~Stranger anxiety is kicking in a little bit. For the most part he'll warm up and talk to anyone, but every so often, he'll get shy and bury his head into my shoulder.

~Sleep.......wish I could say he is sleeping wonderfully, but he's not. Enough said.

~Tummy time still stinks unless we're in the tub. Then he'll stay on his tummy for ever. He is however starting to rock back and forth when he's on his tummy. Wonder how long it will be before he crawls. (not that I'm hoping any time soon....then I'll have to baby proof!)

~Still loves to be outside. He loves to take walks and see everything. Such an active baby!

~Loves books! I read to him at night (and during the day) and he loves to look at the pages and he'll get excited and pat the book with his hands. I hope he continues to like books when he's older.

~He is starting to sit up by himself. He still needs a little bit of support, but is doing quite well on his own.

Love this kid!

Pumpkin Party

We're having a blast here in Moorestown. Kerry and Alison have been so sweet and great hosts. We've done so much in the short time that we've been here and we're looking forward to a great week too. We were able to go to Dallas' football game and to New York City (such a fun and busy city!) and tomorrow we're going to Atlantic City to see the ocean and walk the boardwalk and go shopping. We'll also head into Philly on Wednesday and see the old sites like Liberty Bell. Toby wants to get a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich from one of the vendors so I'm sure we will be doing that too! Lots of fun out East. The colors are just beautiful and I love the falls out here.

On Saturday night, David and Char came over for a dinner and a pumpkin carving party. We had such a great time! Kerry played Halloween music and we got busy carving. Char brought electric carvers. I had never seen them before, but they sure made carving pumpkins easier! Plus, she had gloves for everyone who didn't want to get their hands all pumpkin gutsy. We all laughed about that one! :) Logan and Lilly just painted faces on their pumpkins. We had a great evening laughing and having fun. Enjoy the photos! I'll try and post again. I choose to do Cinderella. It turned out pretty cool!
When in doubt, bring out the drill!
Toby helping with our pumpkin. Baby D just chillin' in the high chair. It was fun having the two D's there.
Nice Kerry.... :)
Toby and Dallas getting the "guts" out!

The finished products! Cinderella, Trick or Treat, Ghost, Skull, and a Crazy Face. Great job everyone!

Dallas' football game

We went to my cousin's football game on Friday. Dallas is such a good player! He loves sports and has got his dad's skills. He's great and we really enjoyed the game. I had fun taking a few photos, but my uncle Kerry got the best ones. He has this awesome lens and looked like a pro out there on the fields shooting photos. Thanks for letting us cheer you on! Hope my baby takes after you Dallas and is a great football player. :) My babes-all bundled up! It was chilly in the shade.
Uncle Kerry and his awesome camera!
Dallas Clark- #44
Such a beautiful day! I just wanted to show the trees and the green grass. They play on turf-very nice field! Uncle Dave up in the box.

Sleep..........

I long for sleep.

My Dearest Dallas,

Why oh why have you all of sudden decided that you do not need sleep....ever??? What happened to my sweet baby boy who would sleep for 10 hours at night and give mom her VERY NEEDFUL beauty sleep? Why have you chosen to wake up at all hours of the night every night for the past week? Just wanted to let you know that you're making your mother crazy and cranky. This needs to stop.

Love,
your bags under her eyes mother

Little baby.
Look how big Dallas is! Guess that's what happens after 4 1/2 months!

Proud twin bros-holding their favorite boys!

Rice Cereal

Dallas got to try rice cereal for the first time last week. At first he wasn't too sure about it, but now he eats like a champ. Yummy stuff!

Rockabye Sweet Baby James

Sweet Baby James-James Taylor

Who would've thought that if my son is having a screaming fit, and I can't calm him down, that I all I have to do is play something from James Taylor and he would calm down in an instant!!!!

No joke-that fast. He really must take after his mom. I used to play James Taylor all the time during my pregnancy--don't know if that made a difference, but he seems to like his music. Maybe he liked his concert that we went to when I was pregnant. I posted about it here. If you never read that post, you should click on it. I got to meet him!

Uh Oh.....

We've become one of those parents that we used to make fun of..........the ones who only talk about their kids when they're with others......the ones who tell you to look at all of the cute faces the kids make, the ones who have to tell you the stats of the kid's doctors appointments, the ones who tell you that they're feeding their kid rice cereal for the first time tonight........that's us! Oh no!

We went out to dinner last night with Eric and Shalee and all we could do was talk about Dallas. We've become one of those crazy parents. Luckily, they still like us and think Dallas is a cute kid. Phew! Good thing we have such good friends. Thanks for hanging with us. :) And we did manage to talk about about some other stuff. Football.

***Side note: Dallas went to the doctor for his 4 month check up. Had his shots-cried so loud and I felt so bad. He weighs 12 pounds 14 ounces which puts him only at the 25%. He's 25 inches tall so he falls into the 50-75% category for height and his head is in the 50%. We've got a long skinny healthy baby.
As for the rice cereal, I think he spit out most of it. But we'll try again tonight!

Bath time with Grandma Love

While up visiting family, my Mom would bathe Dallas every morning. I think Dallas' favorite time of day is his baths. He loves to splash and eat the ducky or any other toy and this is the only time where he won't complain about tummy time! He usually lasts about ten minutes or more on his tummy and that makes me happy since he lasts only about one to three minutes outside the tub! I always hate to take him out of the tub because he's so happy in it! I swear he takes after his mom when it comes to water. :)
Mom was able to capture some super cute photos of him while he was in the tub-I love the faces he makes! I'll be putting a few of these up in my bathroom.

Waiting for the tub to fill up
Loving his Lion Towel

Must have something in my mouth at all times. Either my fingers or the ducky will work!
After she would bathe Dallas, she would wrap him in a towel and then hold him up to the mirror so he could see himself. She has been doing that with all of her babies and now her grandkids. Thanks for taking such good care of my baby Mom! He sure loves his Grandma Lovey!!

Updates!!!!!

Yea for photos! I sure do love to blog with photos and now that I'm up in Spokane visiting the fam, I can finally do that! All of my summer photos were left at home so I will be updating quite a bit in the next few days.

I like to have correct dates for my posts so I can remember when they happened, therefore I corrected the dates on the posts from this summer. Instead of having to search my blog for the new ones, I just created links for you to clink on. Hopefully it's not too big of a pain! I'll post more links as I create more posts so check back often. (okay, like every few days. :) ).
