blue light photos

was playing around with the aperture on my camera.  it was getting dark, but I didn't want to use the flash.  lots of these have that blue tint, but I didn't feel like editing them.  we were playing out in the backyard and in the garden.  it was so fun to watch dallas go and pick a tomato and then eat it right there.  hope he has a love for veggies and gardens!  my basil plant it amazing.  must get some of it to dry so I can have basil all winter.  such a great herb.  we'll be picking our pumpkins soon.  it has been so neat to see them grow and to know that we don't have to buy any pumpkins this year!  how fun to have a garden.

just a glimpse into my daily life.  oh how I love these crazy boys.  they are such a joy in my life.  and they make me want to pull my hair out.  :)

Ghosts

So I LOVE Pinterest.  It's so dang addicting.  Love how people are willing to share what they are creating-making-cooking-sewing-ect.  It's such a great place to put all of my ideas for so many things.
Anyways-found this adorable craft off of it (pinned here), went to the blog called Miner Moments and decided to make my own for Halloween this year.
It was so fun and easy to make!  Although I did have to re-do Blue's foot 3 times.  It's hard making your 4 1/2 month old not squinch up his toes.

I used my Cricut and Sure Cuts Alot program to cut out the Halloween and 2011 vinyl.  I love that machine and that program!

Mom grabbed this photo with her phone.  He is getting so big!

BBQ at Steve's

The next day after the wedding, we had a bbq at Steve's house.  It's always so fun to get together with family.  Chelsea came up from BYU to hang out with us before Carol took her back down for the football game.

Watermelon!

Can you believe we grew watermelon?!?!  I'm not even a fan of it, but I had some.  Just because I grew it.  (and no mom-that won't work with squash or zucchini)
Toby said we picked it just a bit too early, but that it was still good.  They boys loved it and I spent the next two days picking up seeds EVERYHWERE.  Guess that's better than them not eating it!

Blackberry Jam

While on the Oregon Coast, I noticed that we had come at the perfect time for blackberries!!!  Last year, we were too early.  This year, it was great timing.
So, on our way home, we stopped and picked some.  I didn't get nearly as many as I wanted too, but what are you going to do with little kids?  Luckily, I got enough to do 8 jars of jam.  Yum!  This was the first year of making jam all by myself.  I felt so housemaking like.

And it was yummy.  As soon as they all set, I put one in the fridge to get cold!

WES-A-MESS

This is why his nickname is WES-A-MESS.  I leave him alone for two seconds and he's into something.  Today it was dumping a whole water bottle and then dumping a bottle of baby powder.  I don't even use baby powder!!!  Where did he find it???  Who knows.

And then he smiles at me.  :)
