Funny Face

Dallas loves to scrunch up his nose and breathe in and out really fast. Along with trying to get him to smile in pictures, he loves to do this.
He is starting to copy more and more what we do. I stuck out my tongue at him the other day, and now he loves to look at people--and stick his tongue out! It's funny until he has food in his mouth.....
I can't believe he'll be one on the 27th. Insane.

Swan Falls Visit

We went to Swan Falls in Kuna for a little outing on Toby's day off. It was a nice and hot day, so we packed up lunch and headed on out. It didn't take too long to get there and it was interesting to go somewhere new.

When we got there, we found out that there were no falls--it was a dam. Still, it was pretty and we had a good time eating lunch by the river.

Toby helping Dallas walk. He is walking with the help of people or furniture.

We tried to snap a family photo........here's the only good one we got! It is so hard to set the camera up and to get Dallas baby to look. Oh well, at least we're all together!

My sweet boy.
On the way home, our car overheated! Lovely. WE. ALWAYS. HAVE. CAR. PROBLEMS!!!!!! We would drive for a short while, then pull over to let it cool. It took us forever to get back to the city of Kuna so we could find a car place.
When we found one, we pulled in and expected to pay a million to get what ever was wrong fixed. The guys working found that there was a hole in the radiator hose and was able to fix it without having to get new parts! He just cut the hose, and then reattached it. We walked out of there with a $30 bill!!!! Not too shabby. We went and got ice-cream at Arctic Circle and brought back a shake for the guys working on our car. They saved us a lot of money by using our own hose instead of buying a new one. We were so hot and tired by the time we got home! Still, it was a great adventure and we had a lot of fun.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Found this poem, and thought it explained how I feel about being a mom.

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much!!!! I love being a Mom and I am SO GRATEFUL for my sweet Mom who is one of my best friends. She has truly shown me unconditional love and has always been there for me. I often call her for help or advice or just to hear her tell me it will be better in the morning. I love you, Mom!

And I am grateful for Becky too. What a wonderful women! She raised Toby to be the strong, hardworking man that he is. He is a excellent father and husband and I have his mom to thank for that! Thank you!

Happy Mom's day to all you lovely ladies.

Park Fun

We went to the park to grab some photos of Dallas. He is such a little bum when it comes to taking his photo!

He was so interested in the climbing toys they had at the park. He hasn't learned to walk yet so dad had to hold him up.

YEA! A cute little photo of my baby boy. Can't believe he'll be a year old at the end of this month.

What can I say? He LOVES anything that moves. He pushed his stroller all over the park. He had so much fun trying to walk with it.

He went too far so Dad had to go and get him. He was not happy. Love the way you're holding him Toby!

Whoa! He sure went high!

Look at that happy face. I love my boys.

It was a great day-we sure love living close to Camels Back Park. It is beautiful and always full of kids.

Chillin' at the park

We went to our favorite park for hotdogs and play time with Tory and Elizabeth. Dallas loves to swing and play there. Especially if there are lots of kids and people around. He loves watching cars, bikes, dogs-you name it! Very active little boy.

Trying the slide in a new way.....he mostly liked it!Ryker wasn't sure of the swings-we told him Dallas started early and liked them so he would too!
He's a happy baby.

Michelle was a little nervous at first, but then she loved the slides! She is getting bigger and stronger every day.

The Thornton's! No one believes us when we tell them that Tory and Toby are twins. It's fun having family so close. Now that Tory is done with school and Toby is done with school, we have tried to get together more often. It's been great to have bbq's and play dates.
Dallas being thrown up in the air! I can't believe my little baby will be one on the 27th. My, how time flies.

Straws

We've finally taught Dallas how to drink through a straw and he loves it! This is when we were at Toby's softball game, I put the juice down to go and take some photos and when I turned around, I saw him crawling as fast as he could and lean over like a dog to drink the juice! Silly kid.

bending down......He got it!!! Doesn't he look like a little dog? He does the same thing to get his paci if it's on the ground. He'll bend down and pick it up with his mouth instead of his hands.

Trying a new cup w/straw. This one won't spill, but is harder to drink. He likes to carry it around with him wherever he goes.

Getting Crafty

I tried Mod Podge for the first time the other day-and it turned out pretty cute. I bought some letters at Jo Ann's and then went to work. Like the plastic bins for Dallas' clothes?! We're not white trash, I promise. He'll get a beautiful nursery someday.....

Here is a cute hooded towel I made for my cousin Ashley for the "pay it forward" thing. I'm not much of a seamstress, though I wish I was. Guess I should've listened to my mom when I lived at home! But, I want to learn and I am working on it. This project was really easy (one bath towel and half of a hand towel) and I just added ribbon to the hood. I'm making a bright yellow one with ducky ribbon for Dallas. I'll post pictures of that when I'm done.

He refused to model for me. This was the best shot I got! Stinky little kid.

Easter Recap

We had a great Easter, very laid back. Didn't even do baskets! We spent the Saturday before at the park for an Easter egg hunt. They had it all split for the ages, so even Dallas was able to get a few eggs.

Then we went to Tory and Elizabeth's for a bbq. Elizabeth had to work on Sunday, so we celebrated Easter early.

Here's the cake I made-it wasn't as cute as I pictured, but still fun. The edible grass was disgusting.....and so are peeps, but Dallas and Ryker seemed to like the sugar!

Dallas,

You are such a great helper with everything!

Doing the Laundry:

1. Grab the laundry.

2. Check out the clothing and figure out what pile to put it in.

Hangin' with the fam

We stayed at Tim and Kayla's house while down in Ut--they are always so nice to let us crash their place!
After conference on Sunday, all of Toby's siblings (minus Tory) came to Tim's for a BBQ. There were lots of little kids running around! We had a good time talking and catching up.
