peek through the window

Love how Geri took these photos! I really hadn't thought of doing a photo through the window, but it turned out super cute. Dallas was loving watching people walk by and waving to Geri.

Cute little feet. They won't stay little for long. Especially if he takes after his dad!

We were crackin' up at something-probably Dallas. Such fun shots! I am having the best time putting them up on the blog and trying to figure out which one to use for my Christmas card.

More Fam Fotos

Love these! Still have more to post, but enjoy these.

Love my two boys! And in less than 5 weeks, it will be three boys!!
I forget how tall Toby is and how short Dallas is until I see a photo like this.
Playing in the leaves.

Too cute-shows the belly. Guess we can't forget about our new little guy!

Baby D

Blogger is being stupid and won't let me upload anymore photos and I'm tired of trying so you only get one! We got our family photos back and I love them (which is amazing--since I'm hard to please). I'll post more tomorrow. As for now-here's my sweet baby boy!

The boy, his Christmas tree and random thoughts

Why is it that I can NEVER capture him quite right? He looks a little funny in the photo but was so happy sitting in his laundry basket. He is such a ham. The photo is blurry-of course. Even with my awesome camera, he still moves waaaaaay to fast for me!

We bought him a 2 foot Christmas tree this year and yes, I already put it together. I'm giving birth in 5 WEEKS. (can you please come early baby?) That's right smack dab in Christmas season so I'm starting now to decorate. Might as well, while I have the energy. I am praying to get the nesting bug, but it didn't come with Dallas so I'm not too hopeful. Why can't I be one of those women who get the strong desire to white glove clean their homes before they give birth?!?!? Agh. Can't I just hire someone to come and get my house all babyified for me?
Anyways, we bought a led light set that works on battery instead of being plugged in because I knew Dallas wouldn't leave the tree alone and was not about to let him pull or play with the plug. It's a good thing because he drags that tree everywhere! If we're in the living room-the tree is too. It's so funny. I need to get a video of it. I am letting him have some safe ornaments and as of now, there is only one on there. I'm waiting to get our tree up before I drag all the ornaments out.

Can I just say that I love this kid?! He makes me so happy and tired. I love that my job is to take care of him. I feel very blessed to be able to stay home and not have to work. I miss teaching so much, but know this is where I should be. I am doing my most important teaching right now.
Today was a bum of a day. Dallas was grouchy, I was grouchy. Toby had a restless night because he is getting over the flu, which led to me having a restless night, which led to lots of bathroom trips because every time I would wake up, I would have to go! Anyways, on days like today when my spirits are down I often think of Molly and of the Maile Family and that helps put things in perspective. Life is so fragile and we just expect to be given one more day. I will make tomorrow be a better day.
One last random thought- I LOVE my van. After waiting and saving for soooooo long, it feels so nice to have a vehicle that you love. It would hurt my back so bad to crawl in the car and put Dallas in his car seat. And to have to bend down to get in and pull yourself up. And as much I like driving a stick-it would make me tired. I feel so blessed to have a new reliable car! I actually got excited when I went shopping by myself the other day because it was so stinkin' easy. I had automatic doors and plenty of room for my stuff. It was awesome. And the fact that it is completely paid for is just the cherry on top.
I found this quote on one of my friends blogs and thought it went perfectly with my feelings of our van. I know it was probably talking about more spiritual things than a vehicle, but it still rings true in my book.
"Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we want them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come."
Joseph F Smith
So true!

Sneak Peak

We got our family photos taken while in Rexburg visiting Toby's family. Thanks Geri!! She did a great job making my 30 week preggo body look pretty good. It can be hard to take photos of my family, especially with a never-stop-always-moving baby boy! They look awesome and we can't wait to see the rest. Click here to see a sneak peak.

Dear Grandma Lovey,

I sure was a stud muffin at church yesterday. Lots of people told me I was sooo cute! Thanks for getting me a new church outfit. Clearly, I didn't want mom to take my photo-I was being a stinker. All I wanted to do was play cars and she was making me pose!
Anyways, I sure miss my playmate and can't wait to see you guys for Thanksgiving. Thanks for keeping me in style!

Love,
Baby D

#86 buddies

Thank you Mom and Dad for Toby's early Christmas present! We got a package in the mail on Saturday of the shirts that Mom had fixed for Dallas, and we also got a surprise! A Hines Ward jersey for Toby. He loves it!

Dallas wasn't being very cooperative about taking a photo. These were the best I got. But you can see that they are wearing their matching jerseys for Steeler football. Too bad we played like crap and lost the game........thank you O line.
Anyways, thanks Mom and Dad!!! He looks so cute in it-although with a hat on he looks funny because he looks like Ben, but is wearing Hines' number! :)

I'm a VIP

As a new primary presidency, we decided to start doing a spotlight on a primary kid each week. So we decided to create a VIP bag. I got the idea from my Mom and what they do in her primary. We'll pick a reverent kid each week to take the bag home and fill it with a few things that describe him. Then the next Sunday, they can share with the primary and it will go to the next most reverent kid and so forth.

I was in charge of getting it ready and this is what I came up with! A small black canvas bag from Jo Ann's and then a CTR girl and boy image that I found on the Internet along with a VIP badge that I created. I just printed the images on transfer paper, colored them and ironed them on the bag. Not too shabby. The boy and girl turned out pretty cute and the shield mimics the CTR one. I used puff paint to go over the edges-haven't used that in years, so it was pretty fun to play with.

I'm going first tomorrow as an example of what to bring/say to the kids, so I'll let you know if they liked the bag. Hope it's a fun thing to add to our primary!

BSU Game

Today was the game between BSU and University of Idaho. Pretty big game since the two teams are rivals. We decided to head down to the tailgate party that the Cath lab always has, so we got dressed in our BSU wear and bundled up. It was soooo cold today! We woke up to a little snow this morning-not sure that I am ready for that. I need the beach.

My cute boys in their jerseys. I've been wanting to get Dallas one, but haven't been wanting to fork out the money for it. BSU gear can be quite expensive! Luckily I was at a second hand store and found this outfit for 6 bucks! A jersey and pant set that was just his size. Wahoo! I was pretty excited. Toby's jersey we got in Spokane at Ross for cheap too. Sometimes we get lucky.

Isn't he so dang cute?! Love this little man. We finally gave him a hair cut. I was going crazy with his long hair so off it went. Do you know how hard it is to give a 17 month old a hair cut?!?! It just keeps getting harder. He is such a wiggle worm. I let him have a sucker and that worked till he got hair on it. You should've seen the look on his face. It was hilarious.

He's my number one fan! Love him so much. Everyday he amazes me with the things he that he learns and how he communicates with us.

We made Rolo Pretzels-they are soooo yummy. They were BSU style. Too cute!
We do have a friend who went to U of I, so we made him a few of his own. But we mostly made Bronco colors-Orange and Blue. When we first moved here, I hated that color combo, but it has grown on me and now I like it.
We had a great time at the tailgate party. Kelly brought his fire pit so we stayed quite warm. It was a great Saturday afternoon with the fam. Go Broncos!

Welcome to the family

We've been searching FOREVER for a new vehicle (over a few years now) and finally decided on a van. I know there are many van haters out there-but not us.

We found the perfect one this past weekend and we are so excited. No more lemon cars! Finally a reliable car for our growing family that will last a long time. We feel so blessed to have found this when we did. Little tender mercies.

2005 Honda Odyssey
22,300 miles (what a steal!)

The owners were an elderly couple who hardly drove it, hence the low low miles. They never even used the back seats. It was in perfect condition-pretty much brand new and had all the perks we wanted. Love the silver color, leather seats, heated seats, tinted windows with built in shades that you can pull up, automatic doors, sun roof, and much much more.

Best thing about it?! It's paid in full. Now that's a good feeling.

Anyone want a ride?

ugh

so much to blog about, but not in any mood to do it.

Toby is sick-he came home from work yesterday at 9am after going in at 6:30am. Toby NEVER comes home from work sick, nor does he ever take a sick day. He did not feel well. So, he slept off and on all day hoping it was just a bad sore throat, cold and cough. We'll see. Today he complained of feeling achy. Ugh-that means the flu. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

We had a great time with the family for Halloween. I always hate coming back to my teeny tiny apartment and I'm sad to be away from my fam.

Christmas is coming in less than 7 1/2 weeks. That means this baby is coming. I HATE having my due date the day after Christmas. This will be the first year in 26 years, that I will not be at home with my family. I'm really struggling with that.

My house is a wreck. Laundry is calling and so are the toys that have thrown up on everything. If one thing is out of place-it creates a mess.

Maybe I should go and take a nap-oh wait, I did that yesterday and nothing got done!!! Off to clean. That will help cheer me up. And then it's off to Wal Mart. Who can resist going there!?! :)

Dallas having fun at Grandma Lovie's

Playing in Grandma Lovie's sink-he loves this!

Such tiny hands. He's growing up so fast!

Playing with Daddy. Oh boy, does he need a haircut!

"What Mom?!?" um...smile?!?

Nope-too interested in playing with cars. You want Dallas to like you? Sit down with him and play with cars. You'll be his best friend.

"Bbbbbrrrrr" His noise for driving the cars.

He loves to play the piano.

I love how he is pointing to himself. He finds joy in the most simple things.

"Hello?"

Yum! One of the only food he'll eat. He is such a picky eater. It makes me CRAZY! My once perfect eating child no longer exists. boo.

You look like a girl!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Megan and Melissa---you're in trouble!!! They decided to dress Dallas up in some of my old dresses. He sure looked cute and funny at the same time!

Very funny Megs!

Love how she put a headband in--how did he let you do that?!? He won't sit still for me to even comb or try and put gel in his hair!

Wearing Katie's Japan jammies. Notice where he's at?! Playing cars. This kid is all boy. We sure got a kick out of him in dresses though. Glad he was a good sport. :)
