humpf

Today was just one of those days where nothing gets done because you have a 2 month old who just got shots. Good thing he can smile......

He loves his bath!

He does really well in the tub! I love to watch him kick his legs and give me big smiles. Of course, when we go to video tape him, he quites smiling....oh well. I think bathtime is my favorite part of the day because he smells SOOO good and is so happy. Got to love Johnson's Baby Shampoo and Wash and Lotion!!!

Yum!

I get the Kraft Foods Magazine which comes out 4 times a year and they have some of the best recipes! While up in Spokane, Mom made this awesome dessert and when I got home, I decided to make it again. Hop on over to the family cooking blog to see how I did it!

sleep

Well, we got another 5 hours of sleep! We're hoping this becomes a habit....and then let it go to 6, 7, 8, maybe even 9???
Speaking of sleep---Dallas sure is my son! I love to have the sheet over my head when I'm sleeping. Not covering my nose, but definitely over my face and eyes. I don't like light and this blocks it out. I get it from my mom who does the same thing. She has a sheet in a pillow case and plops it right over her head. Instant darkness, instant sleep. Well, guess who is the same way?!?!?! DALLAS! He loves to have something over his face to fall asleep. I make sure he doesn't have something covering his face at night, but during the day where I can keep an eye on him, I cover him up. If he is fussing and I can't calm him, I just take the burp cloth and lay it over his face and he's out for the count. Crazy kid-just like his mom and grandma! Here are some photos. :) Chillin' at the pool, taking a nap.

Sleeping in the swing. Silly baby.

5 HOURS

of uninterrupted SLEEP! It may not seem like a long time to you but to a sleep deprived mother and father, it was GLORIOUS.

Tummy Time!

I've been putting Dallas more and more on his stomach. He's pretty good for about a minute or so and then he starts to complain. We're working on it! Isn't he super cute? Got to love the bobble head!!!

Finally

I finally feel (almost) back to normal! It's such a good feeling. I made my bed everyday this week--that's a first in a really long time and I'm doing small loads of laundry every day or so instead of waiting till the last minute and then having no clean clothes to wear (all 2 that fit)!!!

Plus, I'm working with Dallas to get somewhat of a sleep schedule....he still wakes up almost every 3 hours at night but sometimes he goes 4 hours. I'm doing good during the day, I get him up at 6 or should I say he gets me up at 6! Then we begin our day. We often don't get out of bed till almost 9 though-it's so nice to be able to just feed him in bed half awake! I'm slowly learning when he needs his naps and what the best time of day to run errands are. With Toby being gone from 6:30 am till 10 at night, I've learned that being a single parent is tough! I'm so grateful for when he's home to help out. Moms sure have a busy and tiring but rewarding job!!!!

***Since I forgot to make a picture cd, check out my mom's blog to see what we did for the 4th of July and my dad's birthday.

Red Shorts Hill aka Camels Back Park

We always go to Camels Back Park when my family comes to visit and hike the mountain.
side note--We call it Red Shorts Hill because when we went for the first time there was a guy working out and jumping up the mountain. He was wearing bright red shorts and we were amazed at how quickly he was getting up the big hill. Ever since-we've always referred to the mountain as Red Shorts Hill!

pool fun

When the fam was here, we spent time at the pool. It was so nice and warm! I haven't been swimming since Dallas was born so it was great to have help and be able to relax (and get a tan!). I tried to put his legs in when he was half asleep and that didn't work out so well....I got a cry that I have never heard of before! I must have really scared him because he loves his baths and the water, but not on that day! Katie bug
Jump!
Melissa and Megan. They were like little fish! Always the first ones in and last ones out.
He is loved by his aunts!
Katie reading her book under her towel. She was hot but didn't want to leave the party to go read!

Ducky Blanket

Mom made me the CUTEST Ducky blanket! We put in him in the ducky pj's that Katie got us-they're starting to get too small for Dallas so he totally matched. Mom even made me some burp cloths to match. Thanks mom for the awesome homemade blankies! Too cute! Not the best photo of Dallas, but this way you can see the blanket. Love it.

Just like Daddy

If you know Toby, you know that he LOVES plaid shorts. So check out Dallas! He looks just like his dad. White polo shirt, plaid shorts and flip flops. My aunt Diane got him the shoes. Are they not the cutest?!?! Mom holding him after church.

Such a stud muffin!

Family comes to visit!

Mom and the girls came last night and we have been having fun ever since! We went swimming and bbq'd yesterday and just spent today relaxing and playing games. It's been so fun to have family come and spend time with us. We're doing well pretty good at fitting all of us in our tiny apartment and the girls are still watching the clock and keeping tabs on who gets the baby! Dad and Andrew stayed home and we miss them but are glad the girls came! :)

a REAL bath!

Dallas FINALLY had a real bath.....one month and 2 days old. If you're wondering why it took us so long to give him a bath, see here. I think he loved it! He was a little bit unsure at first, but then his hands relaxed and he seemed to enjoy it. Of course we had to cover him up....as soon as his little bum hit the water he decided to go to the bathroom. Good thing none of us got hit!

It's been so fun to have the family here and play with Dallas. Plus, it gives me a little break!

he he he

The family brought these Mickey Mouse sunglasses home from Disney Land for Dallas. He's pretty stylin' in them huh?!

Also, we tried a mohawk.....he wasn't too thrilled with us. You got to love his long hair! Everyone we meet is shocked when they see his hair. It's fun to play with and I'll be so sad if it falls out.
