crazy weather

We have so much snow! People say that this is the most that Boise has seen in a long time.....it just keeps on coming. My fam in Spokane are the same way. In fact, they closed school on Tuesday and today! That hasn't happened since 1927. Anyone else having crazy weather?

Goodbye, President Hinckley

Mom called me this evening to tell me the news about our beloved prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley. He passed away earlier this evening and was 97 years old! This so bittersweet. I know he must be so happy to be with his sweet wife again, but I am sad to see him leave us.
What a wonderful man! He was prophet for a good chunk of my life and I will miss hearing him in conference. I am so thankful for living prophets and for their guidance. We have so many more temples because of the work of President Hinckley. What a blessing it has been to listen and harken to his council. He will be greatly missed!

Brad Paisley, Rodney Atkins and Chuck Wicks

For Christmas, I gave Toby tickets to see Brad Paisley. Rodney Atkins and Chuck Wicks were the opening bands and I knew that it would be awesome concert. We went with Tory and Elizabeth and it was such a blast! We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and of course, we got to wear our cowboy boots! We don't wear them that often since we don't go country dancing anymore. :( We had great seats, we were in the second section on the floor in the second row. You could see their faces and it was great to be so close. I love going to concerts when I can be as close to the stage as possible. Of course, I forgot to charge my camera battery so I got no photos! That's so not like me---I'll blame the pregnancy.

Chuck Wicks--He's a new artist and his song on the radio is called "Stealing Cinderella." Very cute song and he did a great job. He's quite the looker too. I am sure he'll be a big hit someday. You could meet him after the show, but we were too tired. It was a 3 1/2 hour concert! Still, it's always fun to hear a new artist and I hope he does well.

Rodney Atkins--I was almost as excited to see him as I was to see Brad Paisley. I love his songs. The best songs were "Watching You," "These are my People," "Going Through Hell" and "Cleaning this Gun." Actually, all of them were great. I really loved hearing him tell stories about the songs. He wrote the song "Watching You" about his son and even had him in the video. Then, he had to write a song about his two daughters, so that's where "Cleaning this Gun" came in. He told us that going on dates with the girls can help make the boys behave. I think I would've died if my parents came on any dates with me when I was in school! Rodney doesn't wear cowboy hats, he just wears baseball caps and someone from the crowd gave him a Boise State hat and he wore it while he sang. That was pretty cool and the crowd went wild. It was nice of him to wear it.

Toby caught a clip of Rodney singing his Hell song. You can see him wearing the Boise State hat in it. He did a great job.

Brad Paisley-- He did such an awesome job! What a great entertainer and singer. I really enjoyed his music. He sang all the new songs and a bunch of his old ones too. One girl ran up on stage and kissed his cheek--she was quickly escorted off the stage and booted out of the concert. Oh well, guess she really wanted to be up close and personal!

One of my favorite songs of his is called, "When I get Where I'm Going," a duet with Dolly Parton. This song always makes me tear up. Well, during the song, he has pictures of famous or well known people who have died. President Regan, Elvis Presley, Military Personal, John Ritter, Dale Earnhardt, Johnny Cash and his wife June Cash, Steve Irwin and many more. At the end he showed a picture of Heath Ledger (1979-2008) who had just passed away on Tuesday. He also showed a photo of his grandfather, who he mentions in the song. It was quite touching.

I loved hearing his song "Letter to Me." What a great song to hear about being young. I always think of my brother who's 16. Very sweet song.

I love going to concerts. There's nothing like hearing music you love being sung live. It's like they are singing just to you. We had a fabulous night and as we were driving home, we tried to think of all the concerts we've gone to together. Here's the list (at least what we could come up with). You can tell we are BIG country music fans! The list trys to go in order. There's more, but I can't remember!

I feel good

Today we got sooo much done! I love when I am in the mood to deep clean. This doesn't happen as often as I would like. I'm too lazy! Anyways, we were cleaning out our closet and around the house and got rid of 4 big garbage bags worth of clothes and stuff. Crazy how two people and 5 years equals so much stuff. We took it all to the D.I. and I am so glad it's gone. Guess I am slowly getting in the the nesting phase. Wish it would last forever! My house would be spic and span and we would never have extra junk lying around. Oh well!

So irked!

Tonight I was trying to post some photos and Blogger told me that I had used up all my photo space! When you blog photos, they go into a album called Picasa Web Albums. Apparently, you only have a certain amount of free space.
I either delete photos from my blog or spend money to get more free space. Humph!

Upchucking in Costco and sights of Ben Roethlisberger

Two things today:

1st-

Toby has Steelers lanyard for work to hold his id card and such. Well, today he was at the Meridian St. Lukes (he normally works at the Boise one) and when he went to the pharmacy to get some medicine, the people working there (they don't know Toby) said "Sorry about the loss to the Jags, but holy crap-wow-you sure look a lot like Ben!" Meaning, Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback for the Pittsburg Steelers......just in case there were a few of you who didn't know who he is. He gets this all the time! My whole family thinks he looks like Ben, especially my uncle Stephen who is one of the biggest Steelers fan ever! I think he does too, when he had a goatee and wore a hat. Too bad Toby's salary can't be Ben's.........oh well.

I think Toby is much cuter than Ben. Just had to add that in.

2nd-

While in Costco tonight, we decided to grab a quick dinner. I picked out a table and sat down. As I was sitting there, I kept smelling something that reminded me of puke. I look at the next table over, and there it was----all over the table, the floor, the chairs! Some kid had puked up a hotdog and pop and it was disgusting. Of course, my gag reflexes kicked in and I had to hightail it to another seat or else I was going to be puking. It was nasty! How am I ever going to be able to deal with my own kid's puke??? So GROSS!!!!

kicking away and 22 1/2 weeks down

"You can expect to feel your baby move after the 16th week of pregnancy....."

Unless your a first time mom (like me) or have a little more around the middle (like me) and then you might not feel it until later.

I am finally feeling this baby move. I know, most moms-to-be have been feeling it forever-I have heard sooo many stories....."I felt it at 13 weeks" blah blah blah. Not me.

I started to feel something right before the holidays, but I wasn't sure if it was me or the baby. Now, I know it's the baby. Everyone was asking me and I was getting a little bit frustrated. Good thing my aunt Alison told me not to worry and that it can take up to your 20th week or more to feel anything for a first time mom! Had she not of warned me, I would've been a little bit paranoid. Now the kid is kicking away and sometimes I wish it would stop! I swear it knows exactly where my bladder is and aims for that. Oh well, glad that I can feel him. Now Toby feels left out--it might be a bit longer before he can feel it. :)

Rexburg Trip

We went to Rexburg this past weekend to see the Rexburg Temple open house. It was SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! I really enjoyed walking through the temple and the feelings that I had while in there. The rooms were gorgeous and the ceilings were amazing too. I loved the stained glass windows the best. I was amazed at how large the temple was-there were over 100 stairs!

We watched a video explaining why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints build temples and the history of temples. It was very helpful for those who had never been inside a temple before.

Elder Holland was talking about heaven and what it would be like and he said something to the effect that if he can't have his wife and his children with him, then it just wouldn't be heaven. I can't put it as good as he did, but it was so sweet and tender. I agree with him. I can't imagine heaven without Toby and my babe! Why live this whole life with people you love only to lose them in the next life??? It wouldn't be right! So grateful we have temples.

A few of Toby's family came up for the weekend

as well. We were able to see Tara and Greg and their crazy bunch, Tallie and Isaac with Andrew and then Tim and Kayla with Maezlie. It was fun to go out to eat, and go shopping, swimming and just hang out. I snapped a few photos of Andrew and Maezlie, but didn't get any of Tara's kids. Still, it was a fun weekend. I got to see my cousin Julie and she went with us to the open house. It was fun to see her and her apartment and get a dose of college life. It brought back fun memories. We also got to see Eric and Shalee. They came and visited us Sunday night and then we out to eat on Monday. We sure miss them but are glad they finally caved and started a blog!!!

The only crappy thing about coming home to Rexburg was the weather!!!!! We had a great drive there and back but when we got to Rexburg I couldn't stand the cold! Their roads are horrible. Ice on top of ice. That's pretty much what it is. Very slushy and icy and just plain cold! Don't know how I lived there for 3 winters!!!!

My new best friend!

I get heartburn.......it's not fun. Toby finally convinced me (after hearing me complain waaaaay too much) to try Tums despite me thinking that they taste like chalk. We got a sample of the new Smoothies kind and they are much better! Now I have a new best friend.

Good Bye Girl Clothes :(

Well, I guess I'd better pack away all my cute pink and frilly things. I have been collecting a small (Toby might disagree on the word "small") amount of clothes ever since I've been married and many of those things were pink. So sad! I have to put it all away and hope that we someday get a girl.

While up in Spokane over Christmas break, I had a baby open house with a good friend of mine (who also had a baby) and I got pink there too! The baby open house was fun, I was able to get to see some friends from high school. I haven't seen them for 5 years! Pictured is Christi Perkes, Melanie (Mecham) Adamson, Jackie (Wilson) King, me and Megan Reese. It was neat to see where everyone was at and what everyone was all doing. Fun night!

I was totally bummed when we found out it was a girl and not a boy. But now that it's a boy and not a girl----I'm bummed again!!! Silly me-I'll get over it. I love boys!

Nice photo of his left arm. We were checking for all the bones and wanted to see his hands, but only got closed fists. He sure was moving around a lot!

Both of his feet were next to each other. It was cute to see the toes.

He weighs 13 ounces and is 1o inches long. The length of the legs and arms put him in the 50th percentile for a 20 week old fetus. Not too small but not too big. We'll see how fast he grows.

I always knew it was a boy. After we had had our fist ultrasound, I didn't quite feel like it was a girl and now I know why! We are excited-we didn't really care if it was a he or a she. We sure have a few pink things that we'll have to pack away!!! Oh well, bring on the blue!

Yea! We've reached our 20 week mark.....only 20 left to go. :)

The results are in........

Make it pink, make it blue, MAKE IT PINK!

We think it's a girl.....95% sure it's a girl. It wasn't my 20 week ultrasound, we just had some friends at the hospital do it (they do ultrasounds on hearts) and they were pretty sure it was a girl. We searched for about 45 minutes. The baby has long legs and arms and they think my due date might be moved up. We're pretty excited although I did want a boy first, but that's okay. We got a video and as soon as I change it to a DVD, I'll post it. She stretched out quite a bit and that was really cool to see her tiny fingers and tiny toes!

I have my 20 week ultrasound on January 3rd, so we'll let you know if any boy parts show up!

Today. 2:30. Hope the kid's not nervous!
Because, we are impatient and can't wait any longer!!!!!!!
